One of the most intriguing arcs in Naruto lore is the Hokage's friendship with Kurama. Naruto suffered as a child because he was regarded as an outsider by Konoha after his parents died while fighting the Nine Tails Demon Fox. They ended up putting the Tailed Beast inside the boy, unaware that it was all part of Kaguya's scheme to manipulate Obito and Madara Uchiha.

Nonetheless, Naruto persisted, demonstrating to Kurama that they could be heroes rather than social outcasts together. The creature, admittedly, did not enjoy saving humanity at first, but over time, the fox would learn from Naruto and become an inspiration to other Tailed Beasts and the human hosts known as the jinchriki. Unfortunately, some shocking information about Naruto and the fox's bond has emerged in Chapter 3 of Naruto: Sasuke's Story — The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust.

Kurama's Energy May Have Hurt Naruto, According to Heavenly Stardust

Naruto had been using Kurama's chakra to become a godlike soldier since he was a child. It's what allowed him to surpass Sage Mode and become a warrior comparable to the Sage of the Six Paths. This enabled Naruto to defeat numerous aliens from the tsutsuki clan as well as tyrants like the Akatsuki.

When Sasuke and Sakura discuss Naruto's health, a shocking revelation is revealed. She's also infiltrated the Redaku prison, indicating that Sasuke needs to get into town in order to find a map that could cure Naruto's mysterious illness. It's then revealed that the Hidden Leaf's medical team, of which she is a member, believes Kurama's essence inside Naruto has been impeding chakra flow and affecting his energy, similar to chakra cancer. It's quite shocking, which makes Sasuke even more determined to help his friend by finding a cure, though it won't be easy because the warden Zansru and his pet dino, Men, are keeping a close eye on him.

Kurama's Poisoning Could Predict Other Dangers

Kurama tampering with Naruto's physiology makes sense given that these beasts are weapons of mass destruction. They have enough nuclear power to destroy nations and possibly entire worlds, not to mention Naruto housed them all at some point during the Kaguya War to protect them from the Rabbit Princess. This raises the question of whether Gaara and other hosts were poisoned as a result of their time hosting these elemental forces.

This could have included Naruto's children, Boruto and Himawari, as well as his wife, Hinata. In that sense, Kurama's chakra could be compared to a virus that affects people differently. Granted, there has been no reason to be concerned about anyone's genetic makeup or infection up until now, but this could lead to the jinchriki concept being abandoned entirely in the future.

This is undoubtedly something Katasuke and company need to investigate at home, especially in light of the fact that people like Hashirama Senju (the first Hokage) also passed away naturally. Sasuke's discovery of the records the Sage of the Six Paths used while he, too, was afflicted with this illness should provide more information about Heavenly Stardust regarding the illness's long-term effects on the legendary leader and whether or not it can result in something terminal.
