Cosplayer Josozi took Chainsaw Man and Katana Man on a friendly outing to the mall to celebrate the anime’s season finale.

The images posted to Reddit show the two devil-human hybrids posing as best buds while taking in the sights at the D-mop outlet store and McDonald’s. The two are joined by cosplayers dressed as other characters from the series, like Aki and Makima, complete with their iconic topknot and yellow contacts, respectively. Jasozi explained in the post that much of Chainsaw Man’s outfit was constructed from PVC pipes and other random items, while the head features a detachable blade with a small speaker to play that famous chainsaw roar.

Jasozi uploaded the pictures yesterday just as the Chainsaw Man anime dropped its season finale titled “KATANA VS. CHAINSAW.” The episode concluded the manga’s “Katana Man arc,” with protagonist Denji getting his rematch against the titular antagonist. MAPPA is yet to announce a second season despite the anime’s positive fan reception and the critics’ positive reviews. Its popularity and faithfulness to the manga landed it on CBR’s list of the best anime of 2022. There is still a wealth of story for the studio to cover in future episodes, with the manga from Tatsuki Fujimoto in its 12th volume at the time of writing.

Chainsaw Man’s popularity has led to a wealth of cosplay. Jasozi is joined by countless artists who have shown their appreciation for the series by embodying its beloved characters. Some of these include Cavin Creations’ horrifying Chainsaw Man cosplay, which included a trio of fully functional blades. Low-Cost Cosplay also revealed his cheeky Pochita getup, which even caught the attention of Shihei Lin, the editor of Chainsaw Man.

Chainsaw Man centers on anti-hero Denji, who receives the heart of his Chainsaw Devil dog Pochita after his deceased father’s mafia debt leaves him dead in a dumpster. With the newfound power to transform into the terrifying Chainsaw Man, Denji strives to live a normal life while hunting devils for the Japanese government’s Public Safety division. This proves more difficult than expected when devils and devil hunters like Katana Man come looking for the Chainsaw Devil’s heart, placing Denji in the crosshairs.
