The full version exclusive lists for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have leaked.
After more players have gotten their hands on the ROM of the upcoming Nintendo Switch titles, both major and minor leaks have appeared online. Centro Leaks (@CentroLeaks) posted the version exclusive list for both Scarlet and Violet on Twitter. Sometimes, version-exclusive Pokémon can cause potential players to lean toward purchasing one game over another. Notably, the Larvitar evolutionary line only appears in Scarlet, while the Bagon evolutionary line is exclusively present in Violet.
Another significant version exclusive difference between the two titles is the Deino evolutionary line in Scarlet and the Dreepy evolutionary line in Violet. Along with returning pocket monsters, the list also featured which Paradox Pokémon would appear in either title. Paradox Pokémon are past pocket monsters with a futuristic twist.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Exclusive Lists Leak
Since the first generation of Pokémon video games was released in 1997, the franchise has encouraged people to trade with their friends by making certain pocket monsters exclusive to specific titles. For example, Mawile appears only in Generation III’s Ruby, and Sableye in Sapphire. However, since Generation I, Gamefreak has significantly improved trading between players due to the enhanced capability of the Internet since the late 1990s.
In addition to the full version exclusive lists, the entire Pokédex for Generation IX’s Paldea region appeared online. The massive leak also introduced the 16 Paradox Pokémon, including, Paradox Volcarona and Paradox Tyranitar. Additionally, the three Paldean forms of Generation I’s Tauros and Generation II’s Wooper, as well as the latter evolution, Quagsire, made the list.
Scarlet and Violet return to their Kantonian roots with several upcoming Pokémon. Wiglett, Wugtrio, Toedscool and Toedscruel are based on the Generation I Pokémon Diglett, Dugtrio, Tentacool and Tentacruel. However, Wiglett’s evolutionary line features a Water-typing instead of the previous Ground. Additionally, Toedscool and its evolution adopt a Grass/Ground dual-type instead of its original Poison/Water-typing.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 18, 2022.
