Marvel Snap Adds Major Game Changers With Sentry and Darkhawk

Marvel Snap has added Sentry and Darkhawk to the mobile card game.

Marvel Snap shared the two characters are part of the game’s Winterverse event. In addition to the new cards, Marvel Snap will gift players various in-game rewards from Dec. 20 to Jan. 2 each day they log in to the title. The gifts include items such as 100 credits to a Nick Fury card variant with Samuel L. Jackson’s signature. As part of Winterverse, players can also purchase cards for Abomination, Ebony Maw, Patriot, Rockslide, and Rogue.

In Marvel Snap, Darkhawk is a 4-Cost, 1-Power card with +2 Power for each card in an opponent’s deck. The superhero character debuted in March 1991’s Darkhawk #1, created by writer Tom DeFalco and artist Mike Manley. As for video games, Darkhawk is a playable character in LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, Marvel: Contest of Champions and Marvel: Future Fight. The Marvel Comics figure also made a brief cameo in the Fantastic Four animated series in the episodes “To Battle the Living Planet” and “Doomsday.”

On the other hand, Sentry is a 4-Cost, 8-Power card with an On Reveal effect where he adds a -8 Power Void card to the right location. The superhero first appeared in September 2000’s The Sentry #1, created by Paul Jenkins, Jae Lee and Rick Veitch. Like Darkhawk, Sentry is a playable character in Future Fight and Contest of Champions, but he also emerges in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and Marvel Puzzle Quest.

A New Wave of Marvel Snap Cards

On Nov. 25, Marvel Snap announced the arrival of 16 new cards. The Series 4 characters include She-Hulk, Titania, Luke Cage, Absorbing Man, Maria Hill, Agent Coulson, the Helicarrier, M’Baku, Attuma and Orka. Each card’s energy costs range from one through six, with various accompanying power levels. The Series 5 cards are Galactus, Valkyrie, Super Skrull, Shuri, Bast and Thanos. These characters’ energy costs are four or higher, with Thanos having the greatest power level at eight.

Released in October 2022, Marvel Snap is a digital collectible card game by Second Dinner and Nuverse. In a deck of 12 cards, players possess different Marvel characters with varying energy costs and power levels. At the beginning of a round, players must place one card face down in one of three locations. To defeat an opponent, one must win two out of three locations. Typically, games last six rounds, activating cards’ special abilities.

Marvel Snap is available for free with some microtransactions on iOS, Android and Microsoft Windows.
