How wealthy your country is, how many strong warriors it can claim, and how valiant and powerful its monarch is. These standards are taken into account by the ranking system known as the Ranking of Kings. King Bossu, who is rated number seven, is the monarch of the realm where the main character, Bojji, was born as the first prince. However, Bojji is so helpless that he is unable to even swing a sword. He was born deaf. As a result, both the populace and his own retainers consider him to be absolutely unsuitable to rule. Bojji then meets Kage, his first friend, and his life immediately changes dramatically.
