The documentary covers various aspects of the pre-production, scriptwriting, character design, and concept art for the series. It has English subtitles and is available for fans to watch.

One of the reasons why the first episode is 90 minutes long is because the anime staff wanted to ensure that no important scenes or dialogues were cut from the Oshi no Ko manga. Director Daisuke Hiramaki explained that they didn't want to divide volume one into multiple episodes and opted to create a longer episode that could be played as a TV special or in theaters. The anime premiered in Japan on April 12, and HIDIVE is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.

Doga Kobo is directing the series, with Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) and Chao Nekotomi (Love is Like a Cocktail) as the directors. Jin Tanaka (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) is handling the series scripts, while Kanna Hirayama (Rent-A-Girlfriend) is in charge of character design.

The manga's creators, Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum's Wish), provided a lot of input for the anime, especially when it came to the character designs and background art. The creators gave extra context for many of the design choices in the original manga, such as why certain characters have stars in their eyes. However, the anime staff has chosen not to reveal the significance of those stars at this time.

It's worth noting that the Oshi no Ko anime has already become HIDIVE's "#1 series launch in the streamer's history." Shueisha's MangaMonster service is releasing the manga in English digitally, and fans of the series can follow the behind-the-scenes documentary on the official YouTube channel.
