Highlights
- The story of One Punch Man revolves around various organizations, such as the Hero Association, Monster Association, Dark Matter Pirates, House of Evolution, The Organization, Paradise Group, Council of Swordmasters, Neo-Heroes, and Tsukuyomi.
- The Hero Association is the primary defense against monsters, while the Monster Association aims to eliminate the Hero Association and humans to establish a world ruled by monsters.
- Each organization has its own unique goals and characteristics, contributing to the overall storyline and defining good and evil in One Punch Man.
The story of One Punch Man would be totally different without its many organizations. Almost every character that has been introduced within the story seems to have some sort of affiliation with some organization, even a few that have never made their official debut in the story. All these different organizations range from an entire collection of heroes that are given orders to defeat monsters, as well as others that are entirely governed by monsters. All of these different associations come together to, more or less, define good and evil in One Punch Man.
In this article, we will go over all the major organizations in the manga and anime that have been introduced so far and what their role has been in the plot. However, it should be noted that those organizations that have only been shown in the webcomic such as the Heavenly Ninja Party or the Church of Otherwordly Reincarnation won’t be mentioned, as well as smaller sub-groups like the Fubuki Group or Blast’s Group that’s fighting against God, as these are merely smaller groups and not official organizations.

The Hero Association
The Hero Association is what we can most easily call ‘the good guys’ within the world of One Punch Man. Despite having corruption in their ranks, as seen in Chapter 187, this organization houses all the Hero Classes which are the primary defense against the monsters that run rampant throughout the world and leave destruction wherever they go. These classes are ranked from weakest to strongest and contain all manner of heroes, with the renowned S-Class of heroes being the top brass of the association who are tasked with bringing down the strongest monsters.
The Monster Association
When it comes to the direct enemy of the Hero Association, the Monster Association and all of its Cadres serve as the perfect opposite and counter to them. In the arc bearing the name of this organization, we were properly introduced to the collection of enemies who were seen as the reason for the rise in the rates of monster attacks in the world. Much like the Hero Association, they too consisted of characters of all levels from the Disaster Level rankings from Wolf to Demon. The Cadres, however, were the executive class of this organization and consisted of 9 Dragon Level threats that could only have been defeated by the strongest heroes, and they operated with the goal of eliminating the Hero Association and humans to make a world that was ruled by monsters.

Dark Matter Pirates
The Dark Matter Pirates were a massive organization of pirates that patrolled the entire universe and plundered thousands of planets. This band of pirates was infamous across the galaxy and consisted of many different and powerful aliens, the strongest of whom were Demon Level threats at least, as seen when it took multiple S-Class heroes to defeat Melzargard. This band is run by Lord Boros, a Dragon Level enemy so powerful that he became bored with his life due to how much stronger he was than all of his opponents, much like Saitama. He came to Earth after a seer told him a prophecy about him fighting someone as strong as him 20 years before the start of One Punch Man.
House of Evolution
Founded by Dr. Genus, the House of Evolution was an evil organization that was set up to further the next step in the human species through artificial evolution by splicing the DNA of animals with that of humans. The entire staff consisted of clones of Dr. Genus and the main residents within this organization were various powerful monsters that were formed by mixing the human genes with those of various animals such as lions and rhinoes. The main attraction of this organization was Carnage Kabuto, an immensely powerful monster that was a Dragon Level threat, making short work of Genos and requiring Saitama to defeat.
The Organization
The Organization is an association of sentient evil robots that are much more important to the overall story than many people think. They made their first appearance when their powerful member, G4, fought Genos at the beginning of season 2 of the anime. Their goal is to cause as much destruction in their wake as they possibly can, as well as to fight stronger opponents to gather data about them, which serves to eventually increase their own power. It was revealed in the Monster Association arc that they were allied with the titular Monster Association.

Paradise Group
The Paradise Group was a smaller and lesser-known organization that was led by the B-Class criminal, Hammerhead. Members of this organization were identified by their bulky battle suits that greatly multiplied their strength, enough that they could bring down entire buildings with a single punch. These same suits were stolen from The Organization, though it was later revealed that the robots allowed this to happen. The main goal of the Paradise Group was to make a utopia where work was entirely voluntary because Hammerhead never wanted a real job. However, after their defeat, Hammerhead promised to get one.
Council of Swordmasters
Much like the Paradise Group, the Council of Swordmasters is an official organization, but one that is relatively small in size. All the members of this organization are masters of the blade and there are two main goals that they hope to achieve. According to Haragiri, the Council only convenes in times of crisis, and they fight alongside the Hero Association in defeating threats to the world. However, the leader Nichirin also revealed that another goal of theirs is to find the mythical Moon Blade.

Neo-Heroes
Though we don’t know too much about them, the Neo-Heroes have officially made their way into the manga from the webcomic. As of now, all that is known about this mysterious group is the fact that it is an independent hero organization that seeks to replace the Hero Association. The Neo-Heroes were created after many became disillusioned with the Association, saying that it did not represent true heroism and was corrupt. While their goals and actions haven’t properly been seen, what is known is that they have not only recruited various powerful characters within their ranks, but have also reached out to many heroes within the Hero Association to switch sides.
Tsukuyomi
The newest addition to the organizations in One Punch Man is Tsukuyomi, which also just happens to be the most elusive and mysterious of them all. While very little is known about them, the manga did reveal that this organization trapped and experimented on Tatsumaki when she was very young due to her innate esper abilities. This experimentation eventually led to Tatsumaki awakening her hidden potential and powers and killing many members of the group in front of 2-year-old Fubuki’s eyes, which in turn also awoke her psychic abilities. They made their introduction in Chapter 175 where they offered a large sum of money for Psykos, only to be confronted and defeated by Tatsumaki. Their goals are still a mystery, though it is known that they require psychics to achieve them.
These organizations, in a way, represent different factions in the world of One Punch Man and they work towards achieving their own goals. Alongside these organizations, there are also a vast number of different sub-groups and teams that operate independently.
One Punch Man can be streamed on Netflix and Hulu.
