The Cross Guild is one of the most powerful organizations in One Piece. It was created by Dracule Mihawk and Crocodile in order to combat the threat of the Marines. But Buggy’s underlings swooped in and drew posters that made it seem that former Shichibukai were working under their captain. Mihawk and Crocodile were furious, but ultimately decided to keep up the pretense and let Buggy take the brunt of their actions.

The organization has put bounties on the Marines, which has resulted in many soldiers being hunted by pirates, bounty hunters, and civilians. T-Bone, one of the kindest Marines, was killed by people because they wanted to collect the bounty on his head. The Cross Guild is gaining a lot of traction, and the organization is looking to expand its influence. There are still many notable pirates who can join their ranks and improve the group’s strength. One of the few One Piece pirates that can join the Cross Guild is Donquixote Doflamingo.
Doflamingo’s Past
Donquixote Doflamingo is the former ruler of Dressrosa. He was originally a Celestial Dragon, but he ended up as a regular human after his father decided to relocate. The people did not react kindly to the Celestial Dragons being in their midst. So, they attacked the Donquixote family. Doflamingo never forgot about what happened, and when he grew up, he went to reclaim what was his. He took over the country of Dressrosa with the help of his crew members. He ruled over the country until Luffy brought him down, after which he was arrested and had his Shichibukai title taken away.
Doflamingo was taken to Impel Down and put under high surveillance. The World Government even sent assassins to kill him because he knew too much about the treasure of Marijoa. However, Magellan did not let anyone harm him. Doflamingo knew that his life was in danger, but he was not bothered by it. At the moment, Doflamingo is still inside Impel Down, and he will remain there until someone breaks him out or there is another riot.
The Role of The Cross Guild
The Cross Guild is currently trying to obtain the One Piece after Buggy openly expressed his desire to claim the treasure left behind by his former captain. While Crocodile and Mihawk are strong fighters, they cannot compete with the other crews who are in the race for the One Piece. They would need more powerful individuals, and Doflamingo would be the perfect addition. The biggest challenge that they will face is breaking him out. They are aware that Doflamingo is in the most secure prison facility in the entire world, so it won’t be easy to set him free.
Crocodile is a smart man, and if there is any person who can formulate a plan to get inside Impel Down without causing a ruckus, then it is him. It is going to be a challenge, but the effort will be worth it. If the World Government decides to transport Doflamingo to another island, it would be the perfect opportunity for the Cross Guild to strike and free their man.
What Doflamingo Offers
Doflamingo possesses the Ito Ito no Mi, which is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, and it allows him to create and manipulate strings at will. The ability to control seems extremely weak, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Doflamingo can use his Devil Fruit to control other individuals. He can even slice through rigid objects such as steel and rocks with ease. Doflamingo has awakened his Devil Fruit, which allows him to turn any object into strings.
In addition to this, he is also able to use three types of Haki, but he doesn’t have the same level of control as some of the other characters. Aside from his physical abilities, Doflamingo also has an extremely clever head on his shoulders. He has used his intelligence many times to turn the tide of the battle and gain an edge.
What Will Happen Afterward
Once Doflamingo joins the Cross Guild, his bounty will go up significantly, and the World Government will intensify its efforts to capture him. Doflamingo’s awareness of things in Marijoa makes him a great threat. The Five Elders cannot have him disclosing this information to the wrong people. For instance, if he told Blackbeard about the treasure in Marijoa, the Yonko would take advantage of it. This would put the World Government in grave danger, and it may even compromise the identity of Imu.
In any case, Doflamingo’s escape from Impel Down will be absolutely monumental, and it will affect the overall story. It is unclear what Oda plans to do with him, but considering the fact that he is still alive, it seems that Doflamingo may yet have a role to play in the Final Saga of One Piece.
