One Piece Fans Outraged Over The Latest Vivre Card Set Due To Shocking Omission

Highlights

  • Vivre Cards offer extra details about characters, leading to controversy over important information being revealed outside the manga.
  • Zoro’s missing Conqueror’s Haki in the Vivre Card raises doubts about its accuracy, despite evidence from recent fights.
  • Despite speculation, Zoro’s strong will and ambitions make it likely he possesses Conqueror’s Haki, with parallels to Silvers Rayleigh.

Every year, One Piece fans eagerly await the release of new Vivre Cards. These cards are created to provide extra information about certain characters, Devil Fruits, swords, and many other things that cannot be covered in the manga. In one of the more recent Vivre Cards, fans learned about the past of Eustass Kid. While most readers appreciated the information, some found it offensive. They believed that a character like Eustass Kid deserved to have his backstory revealed in the manga, as he was one of the most crucial characters in the Wano Country arc.

Not long afterward, the Vivre Cards revealed the names of Zoro’s parents. Once again, some people found it objectionable, as Zoro is such an integral part of the story. However, some of them failed to realize that Zoro’s parents had no part in making him the man that he is now. So, his parentage does not make a drastic difference to the overall story. One might think that the controversies have finally ended, but the latest Vivre Card set has caused the biggest outrage yet, and it concerns Roronoa Zoro.

What Was Written On The Vivre Card

The Vivre Card had information about all the Straw Hats including Zoro. It listed things such as bathing frequency, tolerance to alcohol, favorite food from Wano, etc. In addition to all these things, it contained details about Zoro’s powers. Under the Haki section, only two types were listed, which were Armament and Observation. Fans were quick to point out that Conqueror’s Haki was missing from the section.

This sparked massive controversy within the fanbase. The absence of Conquerors’s Haki raised concerns over whether Zoro really possessed the ability or if it was an error.

The Evidence

Roronoa Zoro used Conqueror’s Haki for the first time in Wano while fighting Kaido. Zoro had already obtained Enma and used it to land a powerful strike on Kaido, giving the Yonko a scar on his body. Kaido stated that Zoro had Conqueror’s Haki, but the latter didn’t understand what he meant by that. The attack hardly affected Kaido, and he continued to thrash Zoro.

The swordsman used Conqueror’s Haki again in the fight against King, who was the strongest All-Star. In the anime, Zoro used it to knock out the weaklings among the Beasts Pirates, but that moment cannot be considered canon. Last but not least, One Piece fans already know that Enma has the ability to draw Haki from a person’s body. So, one would assume that the sword drew Haki from Zoro and helped him take down his opponents. But, was it really the case?

Some Concerning Questions

There is a tiny but possible chance of Zoro not being a Conqueror’s Haki user. This raises the question: how did he use it against so many adversaries? The answer lies in Enma. As previously stated, the sword takes Haki from within a person. The sword belonged to Kozuki Oden, a confirmed user of all three Haki types, so in theory, he would have had his Haki drained at some point. Enma could have pulled out Oden’s Conqueror’s Haki and stored it inside. Oden carried the blades for years, so naturally, it would have a good amount of Haki stored within.

Another piece of evidence that supports the claim is that Kaido was able to recognize the sword right away. There is a strong possibility that Kaido sensed Oden’s aura from the sword, which prompted him to dodge the attack.

Does Zoro Have Conqueror’s Haki?

While there is evidence against Zoro having Conqueror’s Haki, it is highly unlikely that he does not possess it. Zoro is a man with kingly ambitions, and a strong will. Since childhood, Zoro has made it his goal to become the greatest swordsman in the world, which is by no means a small goal. Zoro is aware that to do so, he would have to beat some of the most renowned fighters in the world.

His determination has been evident on various occasions. In Thriller Bark, Zoro was willing to take Luffy’s pain even if he died in the process. He even knocked out Sanji, who volunteered to deal with his captain’s pain as well. A weak-willed person would not have survived putting their hands through the pain bubble, but Zoro did. In the Baratie arc, Zoro was bested by Mihawk, but the former did not run away. Instead, he accepted defeat and asked Mihawk to land a hit on the front of his chest, which was a sign of how strongly he believed in his principles.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Zoro has a lot of parallels with Silvers Rayleigh. Both of them have scars above their eyes, and they are also swordsmen. Rayleigh was the right-hand man of the Pirate King, and Zoro will achieve a similar status in the future. It has been confirmed that Rayleigh can use all three types of Haki, so it makes sense for Zoro to do the same.

Keeping all things in mind, if there is anyone within the Straw Hats after Luffy who might have Conqueror’s Haki, then it is Zoro. So, fans should wait for it to be confirmed in the upcoming arcs.
