One Piece has an array of incredible abilities that Oda has introduced in the story over the years. These abilities are what make or break a character, and it is safe to say that Oda’s creativity when coming up with them has been Limitless.
While the vast majority of the powers and the One Piece world have already been explained, such as Devil Fruits and most types of Haki, there are some others that Oda has incorporated into the story that remain unexplained at this time. This doesn’t mean that these abilities will always remain a mystery, but for now, fans don’t have an answer as to where they came from, or how they work.
5 Yokai Abilities
The Power Of The Five Elders
The Yokai abilities were recently introduced in One Piece. The individuals who hold this power are, of course, the Five Elders. The Elders are tremendously overpowered, and much of that is down to their incredible abilities that fans got introduced to on Egghead Island. All the Elders have the power of a Yokai, that is, a creature from Japanese mythology, in most cases.
These Yokai are incredibly overpowered, and they all have awakened powers. Usually, whenever individuals transform into various monsters, the power stems from Devil Fruits. However, Oda did not label Devil Fruits for them. Instead, he simply referred to their abilities as Yokai powers. This is very curious, and fans already know that their abilities work somewhat differently from regular powers. Above all, they seem to have the power of immortality, and no matter how much damage is done to them, they simply recover as if nothing happened to them in the first place. How this exactly works remains unknown, but fans will definitely find out the answer that that soon enough.
4 Observation Killing
Shanks’s Power To Kill Future Sight
Observation Killing is a part of Conqueror’s Haki that fans have no explanation for as of yet. The only person who has this power is none other than Shanks, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. It was made clear to the fans in the 4 billion volume, which was released with One Piece Film Red, that Shanks has the power to kill an individual’s ability to see the future, and presumably even their ability to utilize Observation Haki.
This is an absolutely incredible power that Shanks excels in. Fans don’t know how exactly it works and how Shanks even came up with it, but it is surely the rarest form of Haki in the series at this point in time.
3 Momonosuke’s Ability
Momonosuke Can Control Zunesha
Momonosuke has a very intriguing ability and this power allows him to communicate with Zunesha. Of course, the vast majority of the fans would simply think that Momonosuke has the power of the Voice of All Things, and that might be true, but his powers come with a unique twist. Those with Voice of All Things can hear the voice of Zunesha. For instance, Luffy can easily hear Zunesha. Similarly, Roger, as well as Oden, could hear Zunesha as well.
However, there is a key difference that separates these individuals from Momo. Only Momo can command it, or converse with it. The others, while being capable of understanding Zunesha, cannot order it, or converse with it. Momo is the only one who does it and orders it to do things. This means Momo is somewhat different from the others and what this difference is remains unknown at this point in time. Fans will most likely find out more about that later down the line in One Piece.
2 Mother Flame
The Ancient Source Of Power That Lit Up An Ancient Weapon
The Mother Flame is an incredible ability that fans were recently introduced to. The mother flame is a creation from Dr Vegapunk in recent times, and it can be said that it is the pinnacle of what he has created with his genius mind over the years. The mother flame also existed long ago and the creators of this power back then were those of the Ancient Kingdom. Now, Vegapunk has recreated this power source in order to create an undying source of energy that would end wars.
However, the mother flame has also been used for evil by the Government, as it was used to power up Uranus and destroy the Lulusia Kingdom. Fans know it to be a powerful source of energy, however, it is unknown where exactly this energy comes from, how it is made, and what its significance is in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully, fans will find out the answers to these questions when the series tackles its creation in the first place, which happened long ago in the past.
1 The Three-Eyed Tribe Power
The Three-Eyed Tribe’s Power To Understand Poneglyphs
Another incredibly exciting ability that fans know exists in the One Piece world is that of the Three-eyed Tribe. The Three-Eyed tribe has not actually been introduced in One Piece yet. The only person that fans know belongs to this tribe is Pudding, and she’s only a half-breed. A pure Three-Eyed Tribe individual has not been seen in One Piece and neither has their ability to decipher Poneglyphs being explained. How exactly this ability works and why it works in the first place remains unknown at this point in time, and fans surely hope that Oda will throw some more light on it later down the line.
