One Piece is home to many incredible pirate crews who have made a name for themselves, but none come close to what the Roger Pirates have achieved. The crew was formed by Gol D. Roger, along with Silvers Raleigh.
The Roger Pirates remain the only pirate crew to have completed a voyage around the world. They were the first crew to reach Laugh Tale and find the One Piece. Furthermore, the crew learned about various other secrets, which made them the number one enemy of the World Government. Needless to say, the crew wouldn't have managed to reach such great heights with incompetent members. The Roger Pirates were powerful, but some of them were better than the rest.
8 Buggy
Special Ability: Bara Bara no Mi
Buggy was also a member of the Roger Pirates. Like Shanks, he was just an apprentice, so he was not all that powerful. Buggy was a coward who did not like Roger risking the lives of the entire crew.
Despite the difference in their opinions, Buggy was still very fond of his captain, and he was shattered when Roger was executed by the Marines. After the crew disbanded, Buggy went on to start his own pirate crew and became famous.
7 Shanks
Special Ability: None
Shanks was an apprentice on the crew of Gol D. Roger. Shanks adored his captain and did anything that he asked of him. Shanks was very young when he was traveling with the Roger Pirates, but it helped him gain a great deal of experience. Shanks wielded a sword in battle, and he wasn't hesitant to use it.
Roger had high hopes for the young apprentice, which is why he entrusted Shanks with the Straw Hat. When Roger was executed in Loguetown, Shanks was completely heartbroken, which showed how much he loved him.
6 Kozuki Toki
Special Ability: Toki Toki no Mi
Kozuki Toki joined the crew along with her husband, Oden. While she did not have ridiculous physical strength like Oden, she was just as fearless and strong-willed. Toki possessed the Toki Toki no Mi, which allowed her to travel to the future. She could also use her power to send other people.
The big drawback was that once she traveled to a certain point in the future, she could not go back. Toki did not participate in any major fights, which is hardly surprising given the crew's impressive strength.
5 Crocus
Special Ability: Medical Expertise, Kenbunshoku Haki
Crocus was the doctor of the Roger Pirates. It was his job to prolong Roger's life as much as possible. Not many people knew that Roger was actually sick and in need of constant treatment. Without Crocus, Roger would have died before becoming the pirate king.
According to Rayleigh, Crocus was the best doctor in the world, and he was the only person capable of helping Roger. Crocus was not the greatest when it came to combat, but he wasn't a slouch either.
4 Scopper Gaban
Special Ability: None
Scopper Gaban was a prominent member of the Roger Pirates. It is unknown when he joined the crew, but he was present during all the important events. Not much is known about his past or his abilities, except for the fact that Gabon wielded two axes. It is safe to assume that he could use them with great skill.
When Oden was charging toward the Roger Pirates, Gabon and Rayleigh were the first ones who stepped up to put an end to his rampage. It is possible that Gabon was the fourth-strongest member of the crew after Roger, Rayleigh, and Oden.
3 Kozuki Oden
Special Ability: Busoshoku Haki, Haoshoku Haki
Kozuki Oden was originally a member of the Whitebeard Pirates. He sailed with the crew for a long time, and he was even named the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. At one point, he met Roger, who invited him to join his crew. Whitebeard was against this, but he gave in after Oden personally expressed his desire to join Roger.
With the help of Oden, Roger and his crew were finally able to find the Laugh Tale and learn about the true history of the world. Oden was a fantastic fighter who used two swords in battle. His strength was so overwhelming that even Kaido was unable to do anything against him.
2 Silvers Rayleigh
Special Ability: Busoshoku Haki, Kenbunshoku Haki, Haoshoku Haki
Silvers Rayleigh was the first person that Roger recruited for his crew, and he ultimately became Roger's right-hand man. Like many of his crew members, Rayleigh did not have any kind of Devil Fruit. He had access to all types of Haki, which made him a fearsome individual.
He carries a sword, and he is rather skilled at using it. Rayleigh was able to injure Admiral Kizaru in a fight despite being over 70 years old. It is obvious that his strength must have been far greater in his prime. Rayleigh's reputation is so incredible that Blackbeard decided against killing Hancock and left the island with his crew.
1 Gol D. Roger
Special Ability: Busoshoku Haki, Haoshoku Haki
Gol D. Roger was the captain of the Roger Pirates and the strongest member of the crew. He was an easygoing person with a childish demeanor. Roger loved to celebrate and fight, which made him stand out from the other members of his crew. He did not have any kind of Devil Fruit, but he was still among the strongest pirates in the world.
The secret behind his strength was his Haki, with which he was able to fight against the likes of Whitebeard, Garp, Shiki, and Rocks. Roger could use all three types of Haki, and he was particularly adept at using Haoshoku Haki. He remains the only pirate captain to have successfully conquered the Grand Line and found the One Piece.
