The Egghead Island arc of One Piece has given fans quite a lot of exciting battles, especially for the members of the Straw Hat Pirates. Of course, among the Straw Hats, the Monster Trio are always going to be at the forefront of things when it comes to extended battles. Luffy has fought several high-level battles on Egghead Island, such as the ones against Gorosei. At the same time, Zoro has also had his fair share of fights.

For the fans, it is no surprise to know that Sanji has had his moments in the arc as well, and he is easily up there in contention to be the MVP of the arc. In One Piece chapter 1119, Sanji got yet another moment of shine, as he managed to tap into the power of Ifrit Jambe for the second time in the entire story. In doing so, he was able to utilize a completely new technique called Ifrit Jambe: Hell Memories.

What is Sanji’s Ifrit Jambe?

Ifrit Jambe Takes Sanji’s Power To The Next Level

Ifrit Jambe is Sanji’s latest power-up that he attained in the Wano Country arc. This power-up was something that fans were waiting for, for quite a long time. Sanji needed a power-up, and there was no better time for him to get it than the war of Onigashima. The vast majority of the Straw Hat Pirates got their power-ups, and of course, it made perfect sense for Sanji to get his as well. This was the first time that Sanji got a proper power-up ever since the Enies Lobby arc, especially on screen. During the fight against Queen, Sanji realized that his body had changed forever. In fact, the very Lineage Factor Manipulation that Sanji was born without, started taking effect, and it was theorized by him that this happened because he put on the Raid Suit a total of three times. Because of that, the latent powers in his body finally awakened, giving him access to increased muscle mass, boosting all his physical attributes, and above all, giving him an exoskeleton.

An exoskeleton, muscle, speed…all of which enhance strength. Add the Color of Armament to the exoskeleton, and my legs are tougher, capable of supporting even hotter flames.

Using this exoskeleton, combined with his incredibly powerful Haki, Sanji was essentially able to sustain even hotter flames on his legs, as he claimed himself. These flames burn much hotter than the regular flames of Diable Jambe and they are intensely blue. At the same time, the temperature is such that it also generates electricity, and together, these two abilities combine to fry his enemies within an instant. This power is known to be his strongest technique. In the fight against Queen, the most shocking part of the battle was that Sanji’s power was so intense that Queen could not withstand it. In fact, with just one move, which consisted of a big combo, Sanji was able to get rid of Queen completely and defeated him in battle without putting in any effort whatsoever.

When utilizing this power, Sanji was in a league of his own, and this certainly goes to show that Ifrit Jambe is one of the greatest powers that fans have seen in One Piece. At the same time, it must also be remembered that fans have not seen the peak of this ability just yet, with Egghead giving them a better look at what it could do.

What Is Ifrit Jambe: Hell Memories?

Sanji Utilized A Stronger Version Of Hell Memories on Egghead

In the Egghead Island arc, fans got to see Sanji utilize a completely new technique, called Ifrit Jambe: Hell Memories. This is a very dangerous technique that can essentially one-shot even a commander-level individual, as was the case with Queen, even when he utilized a weaker technique against him. To understand Ifrit Jambe: Hell Memories, one needs to first look at Hell Memories in general. Hell Memories is a technique that was developed by Sanji during the 2-year timeskip. This is a very unique technique as it engulfs his entire body in flames. Hell Memories is essentially channeled by Sanji’s emotions. The angrier he is, the stronger and more intense his flames get, and the more damage he’s able to deal to his enemies. Sanji first used this technique in Fishman Island, against Wadatsumi. There, this one move was able to grill an entire body, effortlessly. This technique was so strong that even Wadatsumi could not stand against him.

Captain’s orders, Bonney!!

Later on, in the Wano Country arc, he utilized Hell Memories again. This time, he used it against Queen, and it clearly proved to be strong enough to deal deadly damage to him. In fact, Sanji noted that Hell Memories was one of the few attacks that actually did lasting damage to Queen and injured him from the inside.

With that said, one can easily understand that Hell Memories is an incredibly powerful technique and certainly one of Sanji’s strongest. Engulfing his entirety in flames, Sanji then leaps in the air and plants a powerful blow at his enemies’ bodies with his feet, causing them severe burns from the inside out and destroying them completely.

When it comes to Ifrit Jambe: Hell Memories, Sanji is capable of using the bluish-white flames of his newly acquired power, combining it with high-level Haki, and of course, the electricity discharge that comes within this technique as well. This is a very powerful attack that Sanji launched at Luffy in the previous chapter. Of course, Luffy took damage from this, however, his goal was to actually absorb the power and launch it at Mars. Luffy succeeded in doing just that, and Mars was sent flying away.

Overall, taking all things into consideration, it can be said that Sanji’s Ifrit Jambe: Hell Memories is one of the strongest attacks that he has in his arsenal. Hell Memories has consistently been among his strongest techniques, and Ifrit Jambe being utilized just goes to show that this technique is up there with the best. It must be remembered that fans have only seen two Ifrit Jambe techniques right now, and this one does look like it pales in comparison to the one Sanji landed on Queen, which was Beouf Burst.

That said, the first was a combo, while Hell Memories is a single attack. As a stand-alone technique, Hell Memories is stronger. Still, this isn’t even close to the limit of what Sanji can do with his newly acquired powers, and fans will simply have to sit back and see what else he is capable of later down the line.
