One Piece chapter 1110 proved to be one of the most exciting chapters in the final saga of the story, and it might just be one of the most intense ones in the entire series. The chapter, as was expected, focused on the Five Elders, and at the same time, all the major happenings on Egghead Island.

One thing that fans didn’t expect to see in this chapter was Zoro versus Lucci finally concluding. This battle has been going on for quite a while now, having lasted for over 6 months in the manga. Finally, Oda decided to wrap this bottle up, and the winner of this incredible clash has now officially been announced.

Zoro Vs Lucci’s Beginning

Zoro versus Lucci began when the final phase of the Egghead Island arc started. As soon as Oda stopped focusing on the events going on around Egghead and turned his attention back to the island, the basis for this incredible fight was officially set. The Navy had surrounded Egghead Island by this time, and Straw Hat Pirates were officially under siege. It was during this time that Rob Lucci took his chance and attempted to assassinate Vegapunk. Thankfully, Stussy was aware of his ill intentions, and she successfully stopped his attempt by using her own body as a human shield. As was expected, however, Lucci was not put down. He attempted to assassinate Vegapunk once again, however, this time, Zoro stepped in and decided to block his attack with his swords. The battle immediately escalated, with Lucci throwing Zoro outside of the Labophase, where this battle continued for quite a while.

It is safe to say that Zoro versus Lucci was quite an unexpected battle for the fans to see in this particular arc. This was quite an exciting fight that goes without saying, however, it was certainly not one on the cards for the fans in this arc. Still, it was an exciting battle that fans would happily accept with both hands, despite it dragging for quite a bit. Zoro versus Lucci ended up being a stalemate for quite a while. In fact, in the manga, this battle lasted for over 6 months. While they did not actually fight for 6 months in real-time, it must be noted that from the moment when the siege on Egghead began, all the way up to where the Five Elders were summoned, this battle continued. At the very least, it can be said that this fight lasted for more than an hour, if not a couple of hours, at the very least.

How Lucci Fared Against Zoro

Lucci did incredibly well against Zoro, and the reverse is also true. Zoro was seen utilizing his King of Hell Three Sword Style in this battle right from the get-go. This was evident from the fact that his swords were seen carrying Conqueror’s Haki, and the green flame-like aura that he often uses when he utilizes this mode. To counter Zoro’s best power, Lucci used the ability of his Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Leopard in its awakened form. Clearly, both of them were going all out in this battle, and that just went to show the respect they had for each other. Fans recently got a glimpse of this fight once again, and at that point, it appeared as if Lucci was in the driving seat. In fact, Lucci was seen to be controlling the flow of the battle, which was quite surprising for the fans, given how strong Zoro truly is.

However, at some point in the battle, Zoro had actually switched to using just two swords, for whatever reason. This meant that Zoro was not going all out, and that he was not being pushed to his utmost limits. Lucci was not going all out either, and fans did not see him utilize any of his strong attacks against the Straw Hat swordsman. Despite all that, fans knew that eventually, Lucci would have to lose the battle. This was essential for the plot to move forward, especially knowing that the Straw Hat Pirates have to escape from Egghead. Had Oda not taken care of Lucci, it would only have added to the trouble. At the same time, if Zoro lost, then the Straw Hat Pirates that were on the Labophase, especially the weaker ones, such as Usopp and Nami, would certainly have been targeted.

Thankfully, Zoro managed to fight against Lucci incredibly well, and eventually, in One Piece chapter 1110, he dealt that deadly blow to the leopard, claiming victory for himself.

In One Piece chapter 1110, fans finally got a look at Lucci versus Zoro. Readers had been waiting for Oda to wrap this fight up, however, despite all the pleas, Oda actually went on to drag the fight for quite a while. Thankfully, this week’s chapter saw to it that the fight wrapped up in the most incredible manner. Zoro and Lucci were seen going all out in the chapter, with Lucci launching powerful attacks at the Straw Hat swordsman. He even managed to knock one of Zoro’s swords from his hands, which went to show that Zoro was actually being overwhelmed at the time. Lucci then proceeded to use Shugan Madara against Zoro, which is a powerful technique that sees him throw a barrage of Hand Pistols at his opponents. In the Wano Country arc, Who’s Who utilized a weaker version of this same technique against Jinbe. He actually managed to pierce Jinbe’s Haki with this attack, and that just goes to show the powerful nature of this technique. Similarly, Lucci aimed to do deadly damage to Zoro, however, he missed, since Zoro was incredibly fast and got out of the way just in time.

It was exactly at this point that Zoro heard Sanji’s words through a Den Den Mushi, as he was speaking to Jinbe. Sanji called him deadweight, stating that it was quite inefficient for him to not have dealt with Lucci. The fact that Sanji ended up calling him deadweight was the final straw for Zoro, and it pushed him beyond the edge. Grabbing his flying sword, and utilizing a new three-sword style technique, called leopard hunt, Zoro sliced Lucci. This technique was incredibly powerful and it cut across Luigi with sheer ferocity.

Clearly, this technique saw the usage of Armament as well as Conqueror’s Haki, evident from the black sparks flying around Zoro. With this powerful blow, Lucci was dealt a deadly blow, and it is clear for the fans to see that, now, he has been officially defeated. While this fight certainly wasn’t one of the best in the series, it was one that fans still enjoyed, especially when the climax was taken into consideration. At the same time, Zoro can now try to evacuate with the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates, meaning his job on Egghead is almost done.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1110, is set to be March 17, 2024.
