Voice of All Things was first introduced in the pre-time skip of One Piece, and was mentioned specifically by Rayleigh. Ever since then, this ability has slowly crept its way into the main story of One Piece, and as things stand, it is now more important than ever before. Of course, fans know that Luffy possesses the Voice of All Things as well, and, perhaps, with One Piece chapter 1120, the main reason for the existence of this ability might just have been revealed to the fans.

The Voice of All Things is an exciting ability that fans have seen quite a lot of in One Piece. This ability first came into question when Rayleigh was asked whether Roger could read Poneglyphs or not. Clearly, Roger reached the Final Island and uncovered the truth of the world, and this led many to believe that Roger was a reader of the Poneglyphs. However, this notion was quickly shut down by Rayleigh, the former right-hand man of the Pirate King. According to him, Roger was not a reader of the Poneglyphs. He could simply hear the Voice of All Things. Essentially, the Voice of All Things led Roger to Poneglyphs, and allowed him to hear their voice. This then allowed him to understand to a certain degree what the stone had to say, but, there were certainly limitations. Roger could not actually understand the true contents of the Poneglyph. He only got an idea of what they were about and where they were located. The deciphering of the Poneglyph fell on none other than Kozuki Oden, and fans know that without him, Roger would never have reached the final island. Coming back to the Voice of All Things, this incredible ability has popped up in many characters in the One Piece world.

He just heard the Voice of All Things. That is all it was. – Rayleigh

For instance, Luffy is known to have this power, just like Roger, but other than these two individuals, there are many others who have this ability as well. For instance, Kozuki Oden, a former member of both the Whitebeard Pirates and the Roger Pirates, had this ability as well, just like Roger. Oden’s son, Momonosuke, has this power too, but in his case, it might be something even more special, as he’s the only one capable of communicating with Zunisha, which makes him unique. At the same time, Zunisha himself is a capable user of the Voice of All Things as well, given that it has communicated with Momonosuke and even Luffy on many occasions. This makes this beast quite special, and at the same time, gave fans yet another user of this mysterious ability.

There is also the case of the three-eyed tribe in One Piece, who are said to inherently possess the ability to use the Voice of All Things. How exactly this works is not known and why they possess this ability remains a mystery as well. However, the three-eyed tribe can inherently hear the Voice of All Things, and much of this has to do with the third eye they possess on their foreheads. That said, this ability must be awakened by them, and isn’t present since birth. Fans have only seen a half-blooded member of the three-eyed tribe, and that is Pudding. Whether there is a difference between a half-blood and a full-blooded three-eyed tribe member remains unknown. Regardless, they do possess the ability to hear the Voice of All Things.

Luffy’s Usage Of Voice Of All Things

Luffy Has Used The Voice Of All Things On Many Occasions

More recently, in One Piece chapter 1120, fans got to see yet another character that happened to have the power of the Voice of All Things. This character was none other than Emet, the Iron Giant. Fans know that the Iron Giant has been incredibly important in the Egghead Island arc, and that it will continue to play an extremely exciting role later down the line as well.

If you are there, command me, please! – Zunesha

Looking back at the previous chapters that Emet was active in, it now appears almost stupid for the fans to have not realized that he was using the Voice of All Things to talk. It was only in One Piece chapter 1120 that fans understood that he was actually making use of this ability and this was down to the fact that none of the other characters around Luffy could hear this Giant speak.

Emet was clearly only speaking to Luffy and the Straw Hat pirate was the only one capable of hearing him. Luffy’s communication with him through the Voice of All Things was quite intriguing and fans know that more of that is to come later than the line.

That said, Luffy didn’t understand what was happening around him. This also implies that Luffy has no control over the Voice of All Things at this point in time. He doesn’t understand he has this ability, and he certainly doesn’t know how to utilize it properly in battle or how to communicate using this power. Luffy heard the voices of the Sea Kings on the way to Fishman Island as well, and back then, he had no idea how to use it either. On Zou, Luffy heard Zunesha’s voice again, but couldn’t do much with it, other than ask Momonosuke to command the beast to do something about Jack.

Now, Luffy has heard this voice again, but he clearly doesn’t know how to make use of it in battle. Similarly, he also doesn’t know how to sound out Poneglyphs using this ability. Roger was an avid user of this power and could easily tell where the Poneglyphs were located, and how to get closer to them. For Luffy, this ability is still very raw, which means that he will have to work on it somehow, and with it, progress greatly as a pirate.

There Are Hidden Applications Of The Voice Of All Things

As things stand, there might just be a secret usage of the Voice of All Things that the fans did not know about. The Voice of All Things exists in the One Piece world for users to understand animals and even inanimate objects. These objects have a voice of their own, and tell their own stories. Oda has introduced this ability in order for Luffy to understand this voice and even command others to do something for him. For instance, Emet is a creation of the people of the Ancient Kingdom, and clearly, not everyone can hear its voice. This also means that not everyone can command Emet, but if someone does possess the Voice of All Things, then they can use this power to control or command Emet.

Specifically, Joy Boy possesses this power as well, and Luffy could easily lead Emet in battle using this power. Only someone with the Voice of All Things can communicate with it. Similarly, Zunisha, as fans know, can be talked to using the power of the Voice of All Things. Not everyone can communicate with Zunisha or control it. However, characters such as Momo have shown the ability to do so, and if Luffy does master the ability of Voice of All Things, then, perhaps, he can do so as well. The Voice of All Things will essentially allow him to turn inanimate objects and other mystical beasts to his allies. Characters like Zunesha will be his aides in battle, and others, such as the scientific creations of the people of Ancient Kingdom, will most certainly join him in battle as well.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1120, is set to be July 14, 2024.
