Unfortunately, Ginny meets a very terrible fate in One Piece, and One Piece chapter 1098 goes into great detail surrounding the death of this beloved character.
Ginny’s Early Life In Slavery
Ginny was taken into slavery for quite a long time. It is believed that she was made the slave of the Celestial Dragons at the age of 9 all the way to the age of 13. She endured four grueling years in slavery and given how evil the Celestial Dragons of the One Piece world are, one can only imagine the true horrors that she had to endure during this time. 38 years ago, on the island of God Valley, Ginny finally orchestrated an escape and while it was Kuma who managed to save 500 people, it was only made possible because of Ginny and her incredible tactics. Ginny leaked the information about the Devil Fruits On God Valley to the entire world and the most famous pirate crews then successfully made it to this island on the day of the Native Hunting Games.
This eventually led to the escape of 500 slaves, orchestrated by Kuma. Kuma, Ginny, and Ivankov specifically went to the Sorbet Kingdom and after Ivankov parted ways with them, Ginny and Kuma started their own life. Fans got to see them grow up over these years and they certainly become admirable people.
Kuma becomes a pastor who has made it his goal to help as many people as he possibly can in his life. Even if Kuma has to sacrifice his own life for them, he is always willing. Meanwhile, Ginny always protects him, and watches out for him. At the same time, the two still make a living by working together. Eventually, both Kuma and Ginny are imprisoned after the evil King of the Sorbet Kingdom reveals his corrupt policies.
This paves the way for a rescue operation led by the Revolutionary Army. Dragon and Ivankov come to the Sorbet Kingdom to overthrow the king. Subsequently, they free Ginny and Kuma, and these two characters end up joining the group. In fact, it is thanks to them joining that the Revolutionary Army was born. Before these two characters joined, the Revolutionary Army was simply known as the Freedom Fighters. When Kuma became the third pillar of the group, that is precisely when this army was turned from the Freedom Fighters to the Revolutionary Army.

Meanwhile, with Ginny, the group expanded in power even more. Ginny was made the commander of the East Army of the Revolutionary Army and this is a very exalted position for anyone to hold. Currently, this position is being held by Belo Betty, however, before that, Ginny was the East Army Commander. For many years, Ginny and the Revolutionary Army Commanders expanded their operations and the Revolutionary Army grew in terms of strength. On one particular day, Ginny was excited to meet up with Kuma once again and that is when she met a very terrible fate. Ginny was ambushed by some unknown person who kidnapped her. News of this reached Dragon and that is precisely where the previous chapter of One Piece concluded.
Ginny Is Made The Wife Of A Celestial Dragon
It was expected for Kuma and Revolutionary Army members to lead a rescue operation in order to save Ginny in One Piece chapter 1098. However, that certainly does not happen. One Piece chapter 1098 leaks are already out and they clearly suggest a very terrible fate for the character of Ginny. Essentially, no rescue operation to save her is led. This is simply down to the fact that nobody in the Revolutionary Army has any idea about what happened to Ginny. They had bigger wars to fight and when it is revealed that Ginny has been taken to Marijoa, Dragon absolutely couldn’t do anything about this.
At this point in the story, Dragon is way too weak to fight against the Celestial Dragons and overthrow them. Attacking them would be an unsuccessful effort for him and this essentially means that Ginny is left to her fate.
Fans find out in One Piece chapter 1098 that Ginny is enslaved by Celestial Dragons and forced to marry one of them. Of course, she did not want this life by any means but she had to live this horrific reality for 2 years. This is, by far, one of the darkest paths that One Piece has ever taken and even though these themes have always been in One Piece, they have not been highlighted as much as they are in the flashback.
Ginny’s Disease
Ginny is then abused by the Celestial Dragon for 2 years. Fans know that slaves of the Celestial Dragons endure all kinds of abuse and for Ginny, this abuse was of course, physical as well as sexual. Ginny suffered terribly for 2 years and all her dreams were crushed. She then ended up contracting some unknown disease and this is when she was released from her slavery. Essentially, this Celestial Dragon said that they did not want her anymore because they had no use for her and that is why she was finally released.
Ginny was on her deathbed after being released already and that is when she decided to contact Kuma for one last time. When she did manage to get through to Kuma, he finally managed to track down her location and decided to rush to her rescue. At this point, of course, it was already too late for her and Ginny could not have been saved even if Kuma wanted to. Her disease was revealed to be terrible, meaning that she would certainly end up dying right there.
What’s even more shocking was that it was revealed that Ginny was forced to bear a child by her Celestial Dragon husband. This child is none other than Bonney. It is revealed that Bonney has the same disease as Ginny and now that Ginny cannot live any longer, Kuma decides to raise Bonney as his own child and watches over her ever since. That is precisely why the relationship between these two characters is as deep as it is. Unfortunately for Ginny, she ends up dying right there.
At the end of the day, Ginny was an incredible character with great dreams and ambitions in life. She made it far but she was ultimately crushed by the evil of the Celestial Dragons. Her dreams were taken away from her and her life was nothing short of a tragedy and arguably the greatest tragedy to ever happen in One Piece. This chapter is a lot for the fans to process and for many, this will even be a triggering chapter. However, that is what the Revolutionaries of the One Piece world are dealing with and this chapter only goes to enforce the idea that the Celestial Dragons need to be crushed and destroyed as soon as possible.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1098, is set to be November 12, 2023.
