Emet, the Iron Giant, is one of the most important characters in the Egghead Island arc of One Piece, and certainly a character that fans knew would have great importance attached to it right from the moment it was introduced. Of course, fans did not know when exactly Emet would get an important role, but those with a keen eye knew that he would go on to get a bigger role at some point down the line in the Egghead Island arc itself.
More recently, Emet has started becoming more and more active, and even engaged in combat against the likes of the Five Elders. Now, Emet is under an even bigger spotlight, and it is up to him to stop the Elders and allow the Straw Hat Pirates to escape. He plans on doing this using a special weapon, and it will be interesting to see what he ends up doing in the upcoming chapters of One Piece.
Emet Vs The Elders So Far
Emet Has Already Faced Off Against Warcury And Peter
Emet recently joined the battle on Egghead in One Piece and he certainly surpassed all expectations while doing so. While quite a lot of the fans believe that Emet would not be strong at all, he shattered all the expectations and surpassed them by actually landing a powerful blow on Warcury in One Piece chapter 1119. This happened after Emet witnessed Luffy going Gear 5 once again, and with that, he knew that he had to protect Joy Boy. Emet leapt from the waters and punched Warcury across the face, dealing great damage to him, and even breaking one of his tusks.
This was a spectacular attack by Emet, and fans knew that he had more in store for them later down the line. Emet was absolutely unstoppable in One Piece chapter 1119, but, in the following chapter, his performance wasn’t all that great. Emet tried to attack the remaining Elders that were in front of him. These included the likes of Peter, Saturn, and of course, Warcury himself. More specifically, Peter tried attacking Emet at the beginning of this fight, and while Emet did have a counter for him, his body being around 900 years old prevented him from working as expected.
As a result, Emet could not launch his attack, and he had his arm ripped off by Peter. This weakened him greatly. However, fans know for a fact that Emet is going to reveal something even stronger in the upcoming chapter. He’s fully capable of completely shocking fans, and at this point, they hope that he is able to deliver.
Emet’s Secret Weapon
Emet Has A Secret Weapon He Hasn’t Used
Quite easily, fans know that Emet has a secret weapon up his sleeve. This is evident from Emet’s words themselves, and he stated that he has something to use only when the time is right. When Emet recalled his conversations with Joy Boy, he also recalled the fact that Joy Boy once told him to wait until the time was right. Of course, fans don’t know what exactly Joy Boy was referring to and why he told Emet to wait. It is highly likely that Joy Boy knew that he would have to wait around 800 years for his return, and that is precisely why Emet kept waiting, hoping for his comeback. This is also why when Luffy utilized the power of Gear 5, Emet sprung into action and decided to eradicate all his enemies.
At the same time, fans know that Joyboy entrusted Emet with a special role. Emet is strong enough on his own, and fans know that. However, the power that he has inside, which hasn’t been used so far, is likely the key here. Emet planned on stopping the Five Elders so that the Strawhat Pirates could escape. It is highly likely that Emet himself will go on to stay behind, but fans will discuss more of that later. What fans need to keep in mind is that Emet has to deal deadly damage to the Elders somehow. This must go beyond just injuring the Elders as fans know that they will recover. In fact, they have been injured on many occasions. Even Luffy managed to injure three at the same time by deflecting Saturn’s attack back at the Elders. If injuring their whole bodies was enough, then Luffy had already accomplished that and there would be no need for Emet here.
However, dealing with them requires actually damaging them properly so that they can’t recover and the crew gets a chance to escape.
As things stand, fans know that Emet will make use of some special power that will enable the Straw Hat Pirates to escape. The power might just be ancient energy. It is a fact that Emet carries ancient energy inside his body. Vegapunk confirmed that the Iron Giant ran on Ancient energy and this was the major difference between Iron Giant and Vega Force. Had Emet not needed the power of ancient energy, then it would be no different from the Vega Force and both of them would have been weak. The fact is that Emet is incredibly powerful, and the source of this energy is ancient energy. As such, Emet’s trump card on the battlefield is most definitely going to be this ancient source of energy, which Vegapunk has likened to the Mother Flame.
Emet’s Attack On The Elders
Emet Will Attack The Elders Soon In One Piece
Now that it has been established that Emet might be using ancient energy as his trump card in the upcoming chapters, fans are still wondering as to what it is that he is going to do. The answer is simple. Emet wants to get rid of the Elders, and he can only go about it in two ways. The first way is to do what Atlas did and blow himself up. While this would certainly be a very exciting addition to the story and one that would essentially wipe out all of Luffy’s problems at once, it is also somewhat unbelievable. This is simply down to the fact that the Straw Hat Pirates have not even left the island and in case of any explosion, they would likely get caught up in it.
The only other possibility is for Emet to shoot some kind of an attack at the Elders, which, although surprising to them, will end up injuring them permanently, and this is the important part of the arc that every fan is waiting for. Emet might hold the key to injuring the Elders permanently, and if Luffy and the others witness this, then, they will realize the path to injuring the Elders and essentially defeat them in combat for good.
