Much to the surprise of the fans, the basis of the Revolutionary Army was actually the God Valley incident. As fans know, the God Valley Incident took place in the West Blue on the island of God Valley, 38 years ago. On this day, the Celestial Dragons had chosen this particular island for their Native Hunting Games. Fans already know that these Native Hunting Games were conducted by the Celestial Dragons as a show of power. Essentially, they took an island that was unaffiliated with the World Government and decided to turn its entire population into targets for hunting. When the population was completely cleansed, the island was then absorbed by the World Government and it became their territory.

The strongest of Celestial Dragons would compete over these slaves and the one who killed the most became the champion, and garnered incredible rewards. In God Valley, 38 years ago, among the contestants in the native hunting games were the likes of Kuma as well as Ivankov. These two characters successfully escaped from God Valley and they did so in quite some style, taking one of the strongest Devil Fruits with them, the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi. Using this devil fruit, Kuma managed to save 500 slaves on the island, including himself, Ginny, as well as Ivankov. He sent his own group to the South Blue, back to his hometown in the Sorbet Kingdom. While Kuma and Ginny stayed behind in the South Blue, Ivankov decided to go out and explore the world. This ended up becoming massive as Ivankov was directly responsible for the creation of the Revolutionary Army.

Fans do not get to follow Ivankov’s incredible journey, however, through the papers, Kuma finds out that Ivankov and Dragon have actually made an alliance. This alliance became pivotal as it formed the basis for what later came to be known as the Revolutionary Army. At the time, this coalition between Dragon and Ivankov came to be known as the Freedom Fighters. The Freedom Fighters only operated on a small scale. They liberated small towns from tyranny and helped people wherever they could. Dragon was like a hero to many, especially the likes of Kuma and, with time, his influence only started to grow. The Freedom Fighters gained more men and more power and, eventually, they had enough men to overthrow even kingdoms.

When Kuma and Ginny were thrown into their cells after rebelling in the Sorbet Kingdom, it was none other than Dragon and Ivankov who came to their rescue. They overthrew the evil king Pekori of the Sorbet Kingdom and finally freed all the people who were going to be turned into slaves and essentially left to die in the southern side of the kingdom. At the same time, Dragon and his group also saved Kuma, Ginny, and all the other men who were fighting with them. This group ended up joining the Revolutionary Army as well and this only increased the might of the Freedom Fighters army.

The Creation Of The Revolutionary Army

Before the raid of Sorbet Kingdom, Dragon’s group was still known as the Freedom Fighters. However, after Dragon successfully liberated the Sorbet Kingdom, his group came to be known as the Revolutionary Army far and wide. This is because Kuma ended up joining the group and became one of the three pillars of this organization. Meanwhile, Ginny also ended up joining this powerful group and rose through the ranks quickly, becoming one of its strongest and most efficient members at the time. Kuma was named one of the founding members while Ginny was made the commander of the East Army of the Revolutionary Army. Fans would remember that the current East Army Commander of the Revolutionary Army is none other than Belo Betty. This, unfortunately, suggests that Ginny had to give up the position because something terrible happened to her.

Sadly, fans do not know what exactly this is yet, however, as the story progresses further, they will most definitely find out more about her current condition and if she’s even alive right now. Regardless, after the creation of the Revolutionary Army, Dragon started his strategic revolution where he placed members of the Revolutionary Army in every single corner of the world. All the mercenaries that Dragon had under him were trained to the highest efficiency and it is no surprise that this army produced powerful members within no time.

How Strong Is The Revolutionary Army?

The Revolutionary Army slowly gained more power and influence. They established their HQ on the island of Baltigo, which couldn’t even be located by the World Government. The Revolutionary Army gained so much power that they created different Commanders. Each sea got its own Commander, including the likes of the Grand Line as well. It is clear to see that the Revolutionary became incredibly powerful with time and their influence only started growing. Currently, they are one of the strongest forces in the One Piece world, with their might great enough to challenge even the Celestial Dragons to a direct war. Now, the Revolutionary Army has hit its peak, and that is precisely why Dragon has declared War on the Celestial Dragons on this year’s Reverie.

He intends to overthrow these Celestial Dragons and install a just world order. Dragon is a man of the people and he wants evil to be destroyed and a proper system to replace it. The final saga of One Piece is going to be especially important for the Revolutionary Army and fans can only hope that they get to see more of their exploits over the upcoming chapters. The fans can rest assured that, through Kuma, they will see a lot more of the Revolutionary Army over the course of the next few chapters of the story and, at the same time, at some point later down the line, they might even get a proper Dragon flashback as well.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1097, is set to be November 5, 2023.
