In 2024, fans will get the opportunity to see some of the biggest names in action. These characters have been sidelined for a long time, so it is about time that they get involved in the story. With that in mind, here are the One Piece characters that will be making their move in 2024.
5 Monkey D. Dragon
The Revolutionary Army Strikes
Monkey D. Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army. He formed the organization as a means to fight corruption. In a short time, the Revolutionary Army became renowned throughout the world. They liberated many different kingdoms that were under the rule of tyrants. Dragon has achieved a lot, but he has yet to take a big step that would drastically affect the World Government and force it into a corner.
Since the story is in the Final Saga, there is a strong chance that Dragon will finally step up and take action against the villainous Celestial Dragons. His main goal has always been to make the world a better place, and that won’t happen while the World Government is in power. If Saturn loses the fight on Egghead Island, Dragon will have to take action, as he might never get a better opportunity to upend the World Government. There is also a chance that fans will finally get to see his abilities in action.
4 Shanks
Needs To Claim His Captain’s Treasure
Shanks is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. He managed to become a world-renowned pirate at a very young age. Shanks has hardly been involved in the story, but he has made appearances in the last two arcs. He defeated Eustass Kid outside Elbaf and took his copies of the Road Poneglyphs.
He has also expressed his desire to claim the One Piece, which means that he knows it is time to be serious.
So, Shanks will certainly be involved in the upcoming arcs, and he might even face a top-notch opponent such as Luffy or Blackbeard. Also, if Shanks finally makes a move, it will be a lot clearer whether he is against the World Government or if he has another motive. These questions and many more will be answered by Oda in the Final Saga.
3 Imu
Has To Strike Down Enemies Of The World Government
Imu is the true sovereign of the world. They have been controlling all the actions of the World Government for many centuries. Like the Five Elders, Imu is also affiliated with one of the 20 founding families. Considering Imu was introduced so late in the series, it’s hardly surprising that fans don’t know about the character, but that is going to change in the Final Saga.
Imu has done well to hide their presence from the rest of the world, mainly because they have had the Five Elders do all the dirty work. However, there is a high possibility that Saturn might be defeated by Luffy in Egghead, and if that happens, it would be a big loss for Imu. It might force Imu’s hand, and they will have to get more involved in the story. In 2024, fans will learn more about Imu’s past and their powers.
2 Blackbeard
Has To Awaken Pudding’s Power And Find The Last Road Poneglyph
Blackbeard’s rise to the status of an Emperor of the Sea has been nothing short of extraordinary. He claimed the position for himself after defeating the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates in the Payback War. Blackbeard’s involvement since the time-skip has been limited, with his most recent appearance coming after Wano.
Blackbeard defeated Trafalgar Law and took his Road Poneglyph copies. His crew members also captured Charlotte Pudding, as she has the potential to read Poneglyphs because of her unique lineage. Given the fact that Blackbeard probably has three Road Poneglyphs, it won’t be long before he takes a big step toward his goal.
1 Buggy
Openly Expressed His Desire To Find The One Piece
Buggy became an Emperor by a stroke of luck. The World Government knew that he had ties with Shanks and Roger, so it treated him as a dangerous individual. After the abolishment of the Shichibukai system, Buggy knew that he had to go on the run. However, he was saved by his underlings, who created flyers for the Cross Guild. These pamphlets had the faces of Buggy, Crocodile, and Mihawk on them, and due to their orientation, it seemed that the Jester had gotten them to work under him. The entire world was fooled, including the World Government.
For the majority of the series, Buggy has come off as a weak-willed, feeble person. But after learning about Shanks’ dream to claim the One Piece, Buggy wanted the same thing. Despite being badly beaten up, he told his underlings that they would find the One Piece. So, chances are that the next time Buggy appears, he will be involved in something big.
