One Piece chapter 1110 was absolutely phenomenal, and this week’s chapter tackled exactly what fans expected it to tackle. In the previous chapter, Saint Saturn did the unthinkable and used his powers to summon the remaining Five Elders on Egghead Island. In this week’s chapter, these powerful individuals finally gathered and made things incredibly hard for the Straw Hat Pirates, who are now in a race against time to escape from this hellish place.
This week’s chapter increased the intensity of the Egghead Island arc manifold, and there is still a lot to come, which makes it one of the best climaxes of any arc that fans have seen in the entire story.
The Arrival Of The Gorosei On Egghead
Quite easily, the thing the fans were most excited to see in One Piece chapter 1110 was the transformation of the gorosei. Thankfully, Oda did not cut away in this chapter, and the fans got to see their amazing transformations immediately. Much to the surprise of the fan, none of the Gorosei were revealed to have a Devil Fruit power. Instead, Oda simply refers to their abilities as the Yokai forms, and this seems to imply that they do not have Devil Fruits at all. Instead, they might actually be these monsters. This is backed up by the fact that Sanji also referred to them as actual monsters, instead of Devil Fruit users, which means that there is something different about them when compared to regular fruit users. Regardless of that, their transformations were absolutely incredible, with each representing a specific Yokai. Immediately after Saturn utilized the summoning, all of them emerged in their transformed state, as was the case with Saturn himself many chapters ago.
Starting with Saint Shepherd Ju Peter, it was revealed that he has the power of the Sandworm. After him came Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, and he was revealed to have the power of a skeleton horse yokai, called the Bakotsu. Then, fans got to see the incredible yokai transformation of Saint Topman Warcury, who is a Chinese mythical boar called Fengxi. Saint Marcus Mars was revealed to have the power of a giant bird-like creature called Itsumade, and finally, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, who fans are very well aware of at this point in the story, was finally confirmed to have the power of the Gyuki, which the fans had already predicted long ago.
All the powerful members of the Five Elders were shown at the pinnacle of their strength in One Piece chapter 1110. Their powers were absolutely immense, and their showing on Egghead was absolutely incredible as well. The Gorosei did not waste any time, knowing that they were in a race against the clock right from the get-go. Saint Nusjuro immediately used the power of his Bakotsu skeleton horse and charged towards the Pacifistas. While charging towards them, he morphed into his hybrid form, which saw him become a centaur-like creature. Wielding the Kitetsu in one hand, Saint Nusjuro sliced through one Pacifista after another. He actually managed to do this so fast that the vast majority of those surrounding the island were not able to see him. It was confirmed later down the line that he took down more than 25 of the Mark 3 Pacifistas in the blink of an eye, with more of them falling as he continued his merciless gallop.
Saint Marcus Mars immediately took to the skies and attacked the Labophase Frontier Dome with his bird-like powers. Meanwhile, Saint Saturn continued to attack Luffy with his powers, while Saint Ju Peter also attacked him towards the end of the chapter. Curiously, Saint Topman Warcury remains to be the only one who has not done anything with his Yokai ability yet. Hopefully, fans will see more of him utilizing his powers in One Piece chapter 1111.
Zoro Beats Lucci
While the Five Elders were certainly at the center of attention in One Piece chapter 1110, the story also cut away from them and gave the fans a proper idea of where everyone was. Sanji, who, at this point, was trying to get Vegapunk body to the ship of the Giants, decided that this was the best time to inform Nami and the others to escape from the island. Curiously enough, Sanji did not waste any time trying to tell them to wait for them, or to come down. Sanji’s message is to simply run away from the island. It appears increasingly likely that the Straw Hat Pirates will split here. Sanjay, Luffy, Franky, Bonney, and the Giants will most likely form one group, while the others will sail away from Egghead towards Elbaf.
In the Labophase, the Straw Hat Pirates have finally assembled, and they appear to be ready to leave. Zoro versus Lucci was seen continuing in One Piece chapter 1110, with Zoro losing concentration as the immensely powerful Haki surrounded the island. However, when Sanji turned to Zoro and called him a deadweight who is risking the lives of the entire crew, Zoro took this insult personally and decided to end the battle against Lucci in one fell swoop. Utilizing an ability called Leopard Hunt, Zoro was able to completely destroy Lucci and end the battle for good.
The Giants Save Luffy
The biggest part of the chapter was certainly at the very end, when Saint Ju Peter decided to dig underground, and attack Luffy from underneath. At this point, Saint Saturn continued to attack Luffy with his whip-like appendages, which were coated in venom. Had they made contact with Luffy, he would most likely have ended up dead. Thankfully, Luffy was able to evade every single blow launched at him. Ju Peter made use of this time to swallow Luffy whole from below. Right in the nick of time, the Giants of Elbaf arrived. Dorry and Brogy utilized the power of their massive weapons to slice through the body of Ju Peter, freeing Luffy, the Sun God, once again.
Oda Reiterated that the destination from here onwards is Elbaf, however, it will be interesting to see if the Straw Hat Pirates actually make it or not. Things are looking grim at the moment, and the Five Elders will most likely continue showcasing their immense powers over the course of the next few chapters. The Straw Hat Pirates have 7 minutes left on Egghead, and after that, they will most likely have to escape, no matter what.
One Piece chapter 1110 was clearly one of the very best ones in the Egghead Island arc, although, at this point, it appears that fans get to say that every passing week. Regardless, this chapter will be incredibly difficult to top, especially because of the massive reveals that it showcased, as well as the amazing display of abilities of the Five Elders, all of which was topped off by a heartwarming reunion between Luffy and the Giants from Little Garden.
