The One Piece anime is about to enter a crucial juncture in the story. In Episode 1111, the identity of the traitor on Egghead Island was finally revealed, and it turned out to be York, one of Vegapunk’s satellites, just like Shaka had predicted. Unfortunately, Shaka was shot and likely killed by York, who didn’t want her secret to be leaked. With Shaka out of the picture, York can keep up her charade and fool the heroes. There was one important scene in the episode when Attlas, Robin, and Chopper decided to check the abandoned laboratory for any evidence.
This increases the possibility of York’s plan being foiled by Robin, which will save Stella’s life. As the episode came to an end, viewers expected to find clues about what would happen next, but little did they know that the anime would take a small detour. The preview for the next installment confirmed that Shanks’ long-awaited battle with Eustass Kid will take place next week. The Trailer Adds To The Rivalry
While the fight is between Shanks and Kid, the focus of the trailer is completely on the Emperor of the Sea.
It also included text in Japanese, which was graciously translated by some X (formerly Twitter) users. According to the translation, Shanks is going to show a glimpse of his power. If this is anything to go by, then things are not looking good for Eustass Kid and his crew. The trailer also states that Shanks went shoulder to shoulder with the Strongest Man in the World, which is by no means an ordinary feat. He did so before the Summit War, when he went to meet Whitebeard and warn him about Blackbeard.

Shanks’ Haki Mastery Is Second To None
In the past, Shanks had a fierce rivalry with Dracule Mihawk. The two fought many epic battles, and their names became famous throughout the world. It came to an end when Shanks lost his arm in East Blue. Everyone was surprised at how a powerful fighter like him could end up losing a limb.

It was later revealed that Shanks made a bet on the new era. Years after the incident, Shanks became an Emperor of the Sea, joining the likes of Big Mom, Kaido, and Whitebeard. His rise to this status meant that Shanks was officially among the four strongest pirates in the world.
Shanks is confirmed to be a user of all three types of Haki, making him part of an illustrious group. If that wasn’t enough, Shanks can also use the advanced versions. This means that Shanks can use Future Sight to foresee an incoming attack and prepare a counter immediately. Shanks using Future Sight was teased in the preview, which means that he will not underestimate Eustass Kid.
Shanks’ Conqueror’s Haki is extremely potent, and there are only a handful of people who are able to hold their senses before him. He demonstrated a glimpse of his power towards the end of the Wano Country arc when he used his Conqueror’s Haki to scare off an Admiral. As soon as Ryokugyu sensed that it was Shanks, he immediately retreated and left Wano alone. Shanks’ Armament Haki is obviously strong as well; otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to stop Akainu’s attack with his sword.
Does Eustass Kid Have A Prayer Against Shanks?
Eustass Kid is by no means an ordinary pirate. He has amassed a bounty of 3 billion berries that can only be bettered by a few individuals. Eustass Kid has access to three types of Haki as well, but he is nowhere as proficient as the red-haired Emperor. Kid mainly relies on his Devil Fruit in battle. His Jiki Jiki no Mi gives him access to magnetic forces of attraction and repulsion. With this power, he can create giant metallic structures such as a robot or enormous arms to increase his damage output.
As an experienced fighter, Kid has awakened his Devil Fruit. He can utilize it to magnetize another person, after which they will be bombarded with a plethora of metallic objects. However, Kid needs to make physical contact with the opponent for the technique to work. So, if he cannot touch Shanks, it won’t work.
A key point worth remembering is that it won’t just be Kid vs. Shanks; their respective crew members are also going to fight. There is no doubt that Shanks’ top officers are far superior to everyone within the Kid Pirates. In fact, Ben Beckman previously cut off Kid’s arm. Even if Kid causes a major upset, the rest of the Red Hair Pirates won’t let him off scot-free. In any case, fans should look forward to the episode, as there will be lots of action and great animation. Toei Animation will not miss the chance to turn this episode into one of the best in the Egghead arc.
