With the Straw Hats bidding adieu to the country of Wano, they embark on their next big adventure in One Piece. The Straw Hats came to Wano with the aim of taking down Kaido and freeing the country from his control. For decades, the Yonko terrorized Wano. The denizens of Wano had very little hope. Fortunately, they were saved by the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies. The heroes had to overcome many trials and tribulations in order to achieve their goals.

With Kaido and Orochi gone, the people of Wano could finally go about their business as they used to. In One Piece Episode 1085, the Straw Hats said their goodbyes to their friends. Before the episode, fans had no idea where the Straw Hats were headed next. But it was shortly revealed that the crew was going to Egghead Island.

When Does Egghead Arc Start In The Anime?

The Egghead arc will not start immediately after the conclusion of the Wano Country arc. There will be some episodes before the anime begins airing the Egghead arc. The Egghead arc will start on January 7, 2024. Toei Animation even released a promo for the arc, which featured the Straw Hat Pirates in their new costumes. The crew went through multiple outfits in the Wano Country arc, and depending on the duration of the Egghead arc, there are good odds of the same happening again. The new costumes for the Straw Hats are very colorful, and they all look very good.

Aside from the costume reveal, the trailer included multiple snippets of the new island that the crew will visit. From the looks of it, Egghead is very futuristic, and there is going to be a great deal of technology on display. The trailer also includes a building with Vega written on it, and another has Punk Records. This strongly implies that Egghead Island may be home to the genius scientist Dr. Vegapunk.

What This Means For The Series

Dr. Vegapunk is one of the few characters in One Piece whose face still remains a mystery. His name was mentioned before the timeskip, but fans have yet to see him on the screen. The debut of Vegapunk in the story means that One Piece is truly moving into its final stage. It won’t be long before fans get the chance to see Vegapunk and learn about the scientist and his past.

Vegapunk is by far the most knowledgeable character in the story, so there is a great chance that he will disclose information pertaining to Devil Fruits and his other creations. In addition to this, there is a possibility that there will be revelations pertaining to the World Government. Vegapunk is closely tied to the organization, and it is plausible to assume that he knows a lot about it. All in all, the Egghead arc will be extremely important to the story.

The quality of the animation isn’t going to be affected by the change in arcs. Toei Animation is going to keep working to make sure all the succeeding arcs are of the highest quality so that fans can enjoy them.

How The Anime Will Cover The Arc

Before the story enters the Egghead arc, the anime will cover the events that took place around the world while the Straw Hats were in Wano. Toward the end of the arc, fans learned about the formation of the Cross Guild and the anointment of two new Yonko. The Cross Guild is a new organization that was formed by Buggy, Dracule Mihawk, and Crocodile. The three were associated with the Shichibukai at some point, but after its dissolution, they became regular pirates.

It makes sense for Mihawk and Crocodile to band together, as they are both powerful individuals. Buggy, on the other hand, is a weakling with underlings more dangerous than him. He could not have possibly come up with the idea. However, Buggy’s subordinates have a habit of misinterpreting things, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they got the wrong idea yet again and began to spread the false news.

Aside from the Cross Guild, the anime will very likely delve into the events of the latest Reverie, which was rather eventful. It was teased that Sabo had been involved in an unfortunate incident, after which it was revealed that he had murdered Nefertari Cobra. This seems like a fabrication because Cobra was a good king, so the Revolutionary Army should have no problem with him. The Revolutionaries infiltrated Marijoa with the aim of saving Bartholomew Kuma from captivity. So, they wouldn’t have done anything unnecessary and extreme, such as killing the king of such a massive kingdom.

One Piece is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
