Naruto Uzumaki is the titular protagonist of Masashi Kishimoto’s manga series. As a child, Naruto was considered a failure, and he could not get rid of the label until much later. Unlike his rivals, Naruto was not a born genius, so he could only progress forward by working hard.
During his missions, Naruto comes across many notable foes, and most of them are determined to bring him down at all costs. Naruto had to train a lot and learn new techniques to win fights. Sometimes, he fell short, no matter what he did. With that in mind, here are some of the biggest enemies in Naruto that the hero couldn’t take down on his own.
7 Haku
Sasuke Had To Put His Body On The Line
Haku was a trained assassin working for Zabuza. He possessed Ice Release, a unique Kekkei Genkai that could be used in a variety of different ways. Haku had a lot of potential, and, with the proper care, he would have become the ultimate killing machine.
Naruto encountered Haku on his first real mission, which took him to the Land of Waves. While Kakashi was busy fighting Zabuza, the responsibility to stop Haku fell on the shoulders of the youngsters. Naruto was not suited to deal with Haku on his own, which is why he had to rely on others to bail him out.
6 Six Paths of Pain
Many People Had To Help Naruto
The Six Paths of Pain were six different bodies under Nagato Uzumaki’s control. Since his main body could not move, Nagato used his power to control six bodies and divide his power among them. Using this method, Nagato was able to take down Jiraiya, one of the Legendary Sannin.
When Naruto learned of his mentor’s death, he was upset and sought to avenge him. Even though Naruto learned how to use the Sage Mode, it was extremely difficult for him to gain the upper hand. He needed help from many people to overcome this particular enemy.
5 Obito Uchiha
Naruto Needed Support Of The Shinobi Alliance
Obito Uchiha used to be a kind-hearted individual who would go out of his way to help others, but his perspective changed after Rin’s death. He went down the path of evil, which led to the deaths of hundreds. Obito possessed the Mangekyou Sharingan and the Rinnegan, two potent Kekkei Genkai.
With their power, Obito successfully started the Fourth Great Ninja War. Naruto had to fight Obito, but there was no way for him to take down the Uchiha. Luckily, there were many who supported Naruto and wanted him to succeed, so they helped him corner Obito. With their aid, Naruto managed to change Obito’s beliefs.
4 Madara Uchiha
Naruto Needed Six Paths Powers To Counter Him
Madara Uchiha led the clan during the Warring States period, when there was bloodshed everywhere. Under his leadership, the clan prospered and became one of the strongest groups in the world. Madara was able to awaken the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and the Rinnegan, two of the most powerful Dojutsu.
When he was revived, Madara was able to demonstrate the true power of his eyes. He managed to demolish every single fighter who dared to stand in his way. Madara ultimately came face-to-face with Naruto, and he squashed him like an insect. The hero needed help from Hagoromo Otsutsuki and other characters to push Madara back.
3 Momoshiki Otsutsuki
Naruto Nearly Lost His Life
Momoshiki Otsutsuki came to earth with his comrade, Kinshiki, hoping to punish Kaguya and claim the Chakra Fruit. However, he was immeasurably disappointed to find both missing. Momoshiki improvised and decided to capture the jinchuriki and steal their chakra. His hunt led him to Naruto Uzumaki.
The Hokage proved to be no match for the Otsutsuki. Naruto only started to fight back when Sasuke joined the fray. If the Uchiha had not helped Naruto, the latter would likely have died, and the earth would have been completely destroyed.
2 Kaguya Otsutsuki
The Entire Team 7 And Obito Aided Naruto
Kaguya Otstsuki, also known as the Rabbit Goddess, was the main antagonist of the Naruto series. Despite her controversial status as the final villain, it is hard to deny that she was an absolute behemoth capable of taking down the strongest characters effortlessly.
Kaguya’s arsenal consisted of lethal abilities such as the Shikotsumyaki, Truth-Seeking Balls, etc. She was able to undo a Susanoo powered by Six Paths Chakra. Kaguya was able to nullify almost all kinds of ninjutsu, which made her nearly invincible. Naruto failed to beat her himself, so he had to rely on the support of Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, and Obito. Without their help, Naruto would definitely have died.
1 Isshiki Otsutsuki
Kurama Had To Sacrifice Himself To Save Naruto
Isshiki Otsutsuki was introduced in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations as the leader of Kara, a criminal organization that wanted to upend the balance of the world. During his initial visit to Earth, Isshiki was betrayed by his partner Kaguya, who decided to steal the Chakra Fruit. Isshiki was left at death’s door, but he managed to take over Jigen’s body in time.
When Isshiki revealed his powers, it blew everyone’s mind. He was able to pummel both Naruto and Sasuke at the same time. The two didn’t have a prayer against the Otsutsuki’s powers. They would have died if Kurama had not decided to sacrifice himself to kill Isshiki.
