As Jump Festa 2024 continues, fans are getting more and more information about their favorite anime and manga series. Of course, My Hero Academia, which is one of the biggest anime series of the last decade, was going to have its own stage as well.

Fans were expecting Kohei Horikoshi, the author of the story, to deliver some exciting information as the series heads into 2024. Of course, Horikoshi revealed quite a lot of exciting information about My Hero Academia in this Jump Festa panel, however, it wouldn’t be a shocking statement to say that this stage was somewhat underwhelming as far as My Hero Academia’s stages go. That said, there was some interesting information revealed, and the most shocking one was that Horikoshi was actually planning to kill off Endeavor at one point in the story.

Horikoshi’s Message At Jump Festa

Much to the surprise of the fans, Horikoshi actually did not have a proper Jump Festa message. At the very least, a message has not emerged so far and all that the stage included was some interesting voice acting here and there and bits of information from Horikoshi from his own manga. In the previous years, Horikoshi has revealed exciting bits that would happen in the following year on Jump Festa, however, here, it appears that he hasn’t taken the same step. This might be confusing to some fans, however, at the same time, it is quite easy to understand why this is the case.

My Hero Academia is wrapping up very soon and this is exactly why Horikoshi has likely not commented on the future events of the story. The vast majority of the Final War has concluded now and that only means that Horikoshi likely thought that teasing future events was more or less useless. When looking at the story, it is clear for the fans to see that every single fight in the Final War Saga has now wrapped up. The only remaining fight here now is the one between Deku and Shigaraki, which is the ultimate fight of the series. Even this fight is not likely going to last for long. Fans can expect it to go on for maybe 5 chapters or, if Horikoshi stretches things, then, perhaps, 10 chapters are best. It will certainly not go longer than that and, as such, My Hero Academia’s Final War saga is about to come to a conclusion within 10 or so chapters. This is likely why there was no big and elaborate message from Horikoshi at this year’s Jump Festa. At the same time, it is also sad, because this is likely going to be the very last Jump Festa that Horikoshi was a part of with My Hero Academia.

Endeavor’s Potential Death In MHA

Regardless of there being a lack of messages for the fans in this year’s Jump Festa for My Hero Academia, Horikoshi certainly did reveal some interesting bits pertaining to his characters. One such character that he revealed important information about was Endeavor. Horikoshi mentioned that initially, he wanted Endeavor to die in the Paranormal Liberation War Saga and this is very interesting information. It clarifies that Horikoshi had the Paranormal Liberation War all planned out from the very beginning. After the Paranormal Liberation Front was created, the war against them was led by Endeavor and many other powerful Heroes joined in.

This war was quite elaborate and certainly very exciting for the fans as well. Horikoshi likely wanted to kill off Endeavor at the hands of either Dabi or, when he was fighting against Shigaraki. In both the cases, this would have made for an interesting conclusion to his character arc. However, in the end, Horikoshi also mentions that he changed his mind. During Endeavor’s fight against the High End, Horikoshi decided that he should continue living and try to change his character more. Had Horikoshi stuck to his original plans, Endeavor would have met his end at the hands of his son or, perhaps, Shigaraki, who, at this point, was monstrously powerful. It would have made for quite an exciting chapter and would have also propelled the Todoroki Family storyline in a very different direction.

How Endeavor’s Story Arc Will Conclude

It is safe to say that Endeavor is not going to die in the story anymore. If he did not die in the Paranormal Liberation War, then the next place for him to die would have been the Final War saga. Even though he suffered greatly in this war, he did not die and hasn’t died so far. Endeavor fought against All For One and received some very heavy damage. Later on, he came face to face with his very own son, Toya, and this was the true test of his arc. While Horikoshi wanted Endeavor dead once, he decided to give him his redemption arc.

Endeavor, with help from his entire family, decided to face Toya and save his life and, in doing so, saved a large portion of Japan’s population as well. Thanks to the combined effort of the Todoroki Family, Toya, who was planning to self-combust, was stopped in his tracks and the Todoroki Family was reunited once again. It is highly likely that the conclusion to Endeavor’s story arc will be with a family that will make new beginnings and start from scratch. This is somewhat divisive for the fans, however, it is how Horikoshi, in the end, sees it.

Other Bits Of Information About My Hero Academia In Jump Festa 2024

The bit that Horikoshi revealed about Endeavor was certainly the highlight of My Hero Academia Jump Festa 2024 stage. However, it wasn’t the only thing that the author ended up revealing. Another interesting bit of information that he revealed was that Tsukauchi, who works in the police, was originally intended to be a spy for All For One in the manga. At some point, he decided to change his mind on that and took Tsukauchi to the good side. Had he been a spy, it would have made for a very interesting development in the story and fans would certainly have enjoyed this mole character arc a lot as well.

It is always interesting to see what ideas the author initially had and ended up scrapping. Hopefully, Horikoshi will get plenty more opportunities to show the fans his scrapped ideas. For now, all focus should be on the last few chapters of the Final War Saga of My Hero Academia. After the Final War concludes, there are definitely going to be many chapters focused on the post-war, where fans will get to see the lives of their favorite characters being drawn as they successfully fulfill their goals in life.

My Hero Academia is now at its very end and, hopefully, the series will go out on a big high and leave behind pleasant memories for all fans to remember.
