My Hero Academia chapter 425 was certainly very exciting and gave fans a look at a new beginning for the series. Of course, the vast majority of the fans expected the series to wrap up quickly after the conclusion of the war, however, Horikoshi decided to go against that notion and give fans a proper conclusion without rushing anything.
That is precisely why My Hero Academia is currently going through its epilogue mini-arc, and it will certainly go on for quite a while. This week’s chapter of My Hero Academia showcased a proper beginning to the new life of the students following the war, with a lot to both grieve over and, at the same time, be excited about.
The Graduation Of The Hero Students
The Hero Students Finally Set Out For A New Life
Towards the end of the last chapter, fans finally saw Deku and the remaining students who were recovering, such as Bakugo, return to UA. Of course, fans did not actually get to see them attend any classes in the previous chapter. However, this week’s chapter fixed that right up and fans got to see everyone in UA once again. In the beginning, fans got to see a reminiscent festival, only this time, it was the graduation of the students. While Deku and his classmates moved up a grade, there were students who were leaving UA. The likes of the third years graduated and we’re looking forward to creating a bright future for themselves. Out of all these students, the ones that shined the most were, of course, Mirio Togata, Nejire Hado, and Tamaki.
A world without humor has no bright future. So, a world of pluses, where everyone can spend their day smiling, is our real finishing line.
These individuals were focused on quite a lot, especially Mirio. He gave a proper speech in this chapter, and while everyone expected him to open up with a comedic note, he gave a deep and thoughtful speech where he mentioned that the conclusion of the war doesn’t mean their goals have been met. In fact, the losses caused by the war were absolutely immense and they are still in the negatives. Their goal isn’t to turn the negative into zero. Instead, they want to turn the negative into a positive, and only when things start going great for everyone their goals will be complete. It is after that that Mirio finally started doing his antics, and once again, cheered everyone up.
Of course, an event like graduation should have a heartwarming tone to it, and the author certainly delivered in that regard. Fans were fully taken in by the speech, and the comedy was nailed on by the author, and true to the character of Mirio Togata. With that, things are certainly going to change in the hero rankings. Fans already know that Mirio is one of the brightest hero aspirants, and as he is going to become a pro-hero now, things are going to look far more exciting. Hopefully, fans can find out a lot more about that later down the line.
A New Year Begins
Class 1A Students Start A New Year
With the graduation of the 3A students, the focus was then shifted to the students of class 2A. Fans were not surprised to see that the students of class 1A had finally moved up a grade and this time around, it was official. With the beginning of a new year, these students were finally shown to progress. Of course, fans expected to see a new teacher for Class 2A, however, Aizawa stuck with them. This is because of the shortage of Heroes at this point in time, and essentially, this has led to Aizawa sticking with them, temporarily, at the very least. This is certainly a good decision by the author, given that a change in teachers this late in the story would certainly not bode well with the fans. Aizawa is a familiar character and one that fans have come to love and adore over the years.
It is a great decision for the author to stick with him for this section of the story, and hopefully, he will get to feature over the course of the next few chapters as well.
I’ll atone for my crimes and then I’ll try becoming a Hero once again. But, I’ll be fine. I took my friends’ hands, after all! – Aoyama
Another incredibly exciting individual who delivered a powerful moment in My Hero Academia chapter 425 was Aoyama. In this chapter, it was finally announced by Aoyama himself that he is going to leave UA officially. Of course, this doesn’t mean that his dream of being a Hero is over. However, the only reason why he enrolled in UA was because of All For One. Now that All For One is gone, he doesn’t believe that he has the right to stand alongside the other Heroes, who have worked incredibly hard to reach this position. Aoyama still wants to be a Hero, but only when he truly deserves it. As such, he is going on his own redemption journey, which will eventually lead him to becoming a Hero as well. Even though this was a sad note for this particular character who fans had come to adore over the years, his future is certainly going to be bright, especially when equipped with the naval laser.
While Aoyama left, another intriguing student was introduced as his replacement and this was none other than Hitoshi Shinso. Fans know that Shinso is a very exciting character who has excited quite a lot of fans ever since the Sports Festival Arc. In the war, he did play an important role as well, and eventually, fans expected him to join class 1A. Now, with a new year beginning, he has joined up with class 2A as one of the new students. Shinso joining this class certainly helped with the sadness brought upon by Aoyama leaving, and it balanced things pretty well.
The Todoroki Family Arc Conclusion Looms
Shoto and Enji Prepare For A Face Off
There were other things in My Hero Academia chapter 425 that the author focused on as well. Most importantly, this was the Todoroki Family conclusion, which now draws closer. Towards the end of the chapter, fans saw Shoto standing in front of his very own father, Endeavor, who appears to be crippled at this point. Fans do not know whether he will continue being a Hero or not, but, what they do know is that Shoto and Enji are going to have a deep conversation soon enough. The author also needs to tie in the Todoroki plotline forever, and that is certainly going to be exciting.
One panel that many fans might have overlooked in the chapter was that of an individual with black hair crying and walking while panting. This person resembled Kurogiri in many ways, however, there are some differences, and it will be interesting to see who this mystery character is. Hopefully, the author will explain everything to the fans once the series returns from its extended break later this month.
My Hero Academia is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 426, is set to be June 30, 2024.
