Yuta Okkotsu is the talking point among Jujutsu Kaisen fans right now and this is down to the recent developments in the manga that have seen him get a major boost in terms of power, however, at a massive sacrifice. For those who keep up with the manga, it has now been confirmed that Yuta Okkotsu has jumped bodies. In JJK chapter 261, Yuta was officially seen in charge of Gojo’s body, and fans know that this has made him incredibly powerful.
Yuta is now the second strongest character alive in the story right now, behind only Sukuna himself. However, Yuta might actually go on to make history and rise even higher in terms of strength, possibly surpassing even Gojo.
Yuta’s Potential As A Sorcerer
Yuta Carries Tremendous Potential As A Sorcerer
The very first thing that fans need to keep in mind concerning Yuta is that he was always destined for great things. As a sorcerer, Yuta was very special, and right from the get-go, he was considered to be in the same class as the Special Grades. With time, Yuta gained enough control over his power to be considered one of the strongest of all time. Yuta was one of the four special grade sorcerers in JJK, with the other three being Suguru Geto, Gojo Satoru, and of course, Yuki Tsukumo. This places Yuta quite high up the pecking order in itself. However, his talents did not stop just there.
My apologies! It seems I’ve underestimated you. I didn’t think you were capable of going this far…Okkotsu Yuta!
According to Gojo, Yuta belongs to a special brand of sorcerers who are actually going to surpass even Special Grades. Gojo believed that the next generation would go beyond Special Grades and that they would reach an unprecedented level of power. Specifically, speaking of Yuta, Gojo even believed that he would one day reach his level of strength. This is down to his incredible talent for sorcery, his connections to Rika, and of course, him being a distant relative of Gojo through the Sugawara bloodline. All these things combined to make Yuta a very special sorcerer. However, fans clearly saw in the Shinjuku Showdown arc that all these abilities were not enough for him to take down a very weak version of Sukuna.
Yuta’s immense powers were shown to not be enough. This is why Yuta had to gain an even bigger power if he were to stay relevant in this battle, and he did so by swapping bodies and gaining access to Gojo. Of course, Yuta did not want to do this and he realizes that using Gojo’s body as a weapon is essentially desecrating him. However, he also realizes that their enemy is an utter monster and in order to defeat this monster, Yuta will have to become a monster and cast his humanity aside. This is a great character moment for him that elevates him in the eyes of the fans, and just goes to show that he is in a league of his own when it comes to mentality.
Yuta Okkotsu Inside Gojo’s Body
Yuta Has Now Moved To Gojo’s Body
Inside Gojo’s body, Yuta is, by far, much stronger than before. Whereas Yuta once had access to special techniques, such as the Copy ability and Rika at his side, now, he has superior powers in the Six Eyes and the Limitless cursed technique. Fans know the six eyes to be an incredibly powerful physical trait that allowed Gojo to utilize cursed energy incredibly efficiently. When it comes to cursed energy efficiency, Gojo was by far the greatest in the entire series. Much of that was down to the Six Eyes, and now these eyes are in possession of Yuta. Clearly, Yuta is now going to be able to perceive cursed energy on a completely different level and utilize it like a master. His control over cursed energy is going to be far better than ever before.
That certainly isn’t all. Yuta is also going to be gaining access to the Limitless cursed technique, which means that he has access to the neutral Limitless, Infinity, the power to attract in Blue, and the power to repel in Red. Yuta will also gain access to Hollow Purple, and all this will make him a monstrously powerful sorcerer.
Yuta also has access to all of Gojo’s memories, which means that he will be in a league of his own and potentially be capable of utilizing everything that Gojo did as well.
What I’m saying is you might have been born into a higher family than me, so if you don’t succeed spectacularly, it’ll look bad.
On top of that, Yuta is actually far more special than Gojo himself. This was confirmed by Gojo in chapter 261, where he mentioned that Yuta’s connections to both the Sugawara and the Fujiwara bloodline meant that he was born under better circumstances than him and that he potentially has more talent for sorcery. Perhaps, this will be the deciding factor and will allow Yuta to do things that even Gojo couldn’t, such as creating an open barrier domain. In a way, this would already be Yuta surpassing Gojo in many aspects of Jujutsu sorcery.
Can Yuta Go On To Surpass Gojo?
Yuta Could Surpass Gojo If He Can Use His Own Powers Too
If Yuta can only make use of the Six Eyes and the Limitless technique, then, unfortunately, it will not be possible for him to surpass Gojo and reach new levels of strength. However, the fact is that Gojo himself mentioned that Yuta was born under better circumstances. This implies that there is something in Yuta that Gojo didn’t have. This also opens up the door for Yuta to pull off techniques that Gojo didn’t. The biggest deciding factor here is Yuta’s cursed techniques. Fans know that Yuta has access to the Six Eyes and the Limitless right now. However, it is unknown if Yuta can still utilize his own techniques, such as the Copy cursed technique, and Rika. Essentially, Yuta surpassing Gojo depends on these factors.
If Yuta does have access to the Copy technique, then he will be on a completely different level of strength. Yuta will then be able to utilize powers such as Sukuna’s very own cursed technique, Gojo’s techniques, and many others, such as Jacob’s Ladder, and Sky Manipulation, among others. That certainly isn’t all. Yuta would also be able to utilize these techniques on a completely different level. This is down to the power of the Six Eyes, which will allow him to manipulate cursed energy much better and optimize it like never before.
Yuta would even be able to figure out things such as the Cursed Technique Reversal of his abilities and utilize these powers on a completely different level. All these things, when put together, would make Yuta one of the strongest sorcerers of all time, potentially surpassing even the likes of Gojo and Sukuna. Of course, all this depends on whether Yuta can utilize his own techniques and if he has already gotten completely used to Gojo’s powers and can utilize them to the best of their ability. Fans will find out the answer to these questions soon enough.
