Jujutsu Kaisen is incredibly exciting at this point, and fans know that the entire story is now edging closer to its end. It was recently confirmed that this is the last arc of the series, and the battle against Sukuna is the ultimate one that fans are currently looking out for. This battle isn’t too far from wrapping up now, and JJK chapter 263 ensured that the King of Curses was weakened even further, much of which is down to the protagonist of the series, Yuji.
Itadori awakened new powers, which he showcased properly a while ago, but now, he is continuing to make use of them like a seasoned fighter, weakening the King of Curses even further. In JJK chapter 263, Yuji figured out a way to actually land a Dismantle on Sukuna’s soul, and this was certainly a very effective technique.
Yuji Itadori’s Awakening Of The Shrine Cursed Technique
Yuji Awakened The Shrine Technique After His Black Flash
Yuji Itadori awakened the Shrine technique quite a while ago. The Shine technique is one of the most powerful cursed techniques to exist in JJK. This technique belongs to none other than Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. Sukuna has been seen making use of this technique right from the get-go, and it is clear for the fans to see that he is utterly unstoppable when making use of it. The only other cursed technique that can match it or be arguably better is Gojo’s Limitless. Both of these techniques are at the very top of all the cursed techniques that fans have seen in the story so far, and for Yuji to gain access to one of them just goes to show how dangerous he’s going to be in battle in the future.
Beneath the sparks of black, Yuji Itadori Awakens – The Narrator
Yuji awakened the power of Shrine after he landed a Black Flash on Sukuna. Once that happened, he got an awakening and this allowed him to tap into his latent powers. Gojo had predicted long ago that eventually, Yuji would gain access to Sukuna’s cursed techniques and that is precisely what happened. He then proceeded to make use of this technique in battle, however, his version of this technique is slightly different from Sukuna’s. Unlike the King of Curses, Yuji does not fire off attacks indiscriminately. His usage of this technique is much safer.
Essentially, Yuji has to touch a surface and snip his targets in a much safer manner. The damage done by the attack is still the same, however. Prior to JJK chapter 263, Yuji only made use of his Shrine technique once, which made it quite underutilized, given that it was the big awakening of the main character of the series. As such, fans knew that at some point, he would go on to fight Sukuna again and utilize this power repeatedly and that is exactly what happened in JJK chapter 263.
Yuji’s Binding Vow
Yuji Itadori Made Use Of A Unique Binding Vow In JJK
In JJK chapter 263, fans got to see yet another Binding Vow take effect. Sukuna, the King of Curses, has made use of multiple Binding Vows in this arc of JJK. In fact, he has overused this skill so much that fans are essentially tired of him making use of one Vow after another to escape every situation that is inconvenient for him. At some point, it simply becomes a gateway for poor writing, however, it was somewhat refreshing to see someone other than him knowing that Binding Vows exists as well. The protagonist of the series, Yuji Itadori, made use of an effective Binding Vow in JJK chapter 263 that allowed him to damage the King of Curses tremendously. According to Sukuna, Itadori has made a Binding Vow that makes his strikes more effective at tearing out Sukuna’s soul from Megumi’s body.
As for how exactly this Binding Vow works, fans do not know. The sacrifice that Yuji made for this Binding Vow is also unknown. Hopefully, fans will find out more in regards to that later down the line. For now, what fans know is that Yuji is capable of hitting Sukuna’s soul due to his soul capturing technique.
What? He’s repeatedly hitting Dismantle after Dismantle at the barrier between mine and Fushiguro’s souls!! – Sukuna
This is not much of a surprise to the fans. Yuji can hit directly hit the souls of his targets and weaken them from the inside. If he hits the space between Megumi and Sukuna’s soul, then, it will be possible for Sukuna’s soul to be forcibly ejected from Megumi’s body, which would save his friend, once and for all. However, now, Yuji has given a unique and new twist to his soul-damaging ability as he has incorporated Dismantle into it.
Essentially, Yuji can hit a Dismantle at someone’s soul, which is a very impressive feat. Usually, Dismantle works on physical objects or cursed spirits. Yuji is doing the unthinkable and actually using Dismantle on something like the space between two souls. Fans don’t actually get to see the effects of it in real time, but it certainly works very well as Sukuna started throwing up his fingers in the previous chapter.
How Strong Is Yuji’s Soul Dismantle?
Yuji’s Soul Dismantle Can Go on To Defeat Sukuna
Yuji’s Soul Dismantle is one of the most ferocious abilities that fans have seen in JJK as of late. When it comes to Yuji’s very own arsenal, it might just be the strongest technique that he has up his sleeve. As put by Sukuna himself, this technique allows Yuji to selectively choose his targets and hit them. This makes it somewhat different from Sukuna’s own Dismantle, who likes to indiscriminately fire it everywhere, and eradicate every single obstacle that is in his path. Yuji can selectively choose what he wants to target and this means that he can avoid injuring someone if he wants to. At the same time, he only cuts what he wants, and this makes his version of the Shrine much more safe. Furthermore, fans could also tell from the previous chapter that Yuji can essentially do things like target souls with Dismantle.
According to Sukuna, Yuji could fire Dismantle after Dismantle on his soul from the inside. To be more specific, he is aiming for the space between Sukuna and Megumi’s soul, and the goal here is to hit it so many times that essentially Sukuna’s Soul is ejected from Megumi’s body. The fact that he can hit a Dismantle on abstract things such as souls and spaces between them, without even injuring Sukuna’s body from the outside means that his version of Dismantle is much more advanced and can deal damage that isn’t even visible to the eye.
This makes the Soul Dismantle one of Yuji’s strongest techniques and of course, overall, one of the most effective powers in JJK as a whole. Hopefully, fans will get to see more of it later down the line, and it is also possible for Yuji to manifest something like a domain expansion soon enough.
