Jujutsu Kaisen is currently in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, and fans know that the story is now close to its very end. JJK has been absolutely sensational for the fans over the course of the last few months, and this is simply down to the fact that the last arc is being tackled and the most exciting battles are being shown in the story. JJK is absolutely intense right now, and much of that is down to the fact that Sukuna is currently on his last legs.
He has been pushed into a corner by the other sorcerers, and this also means that Yuji has a bigger role to play in the fight against him. Given that he is the protagonist, he has to live up to certain expectations, and he has certainly done that in style. Yuji has gained one power up after another in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, but all that wasn’t enough to take down the King of Curses. That is precisely why he now has to rely on his Domain Expansion, which he finally awakened in JJK chapter 264.
Sukuna On His Last Legs
Sukuna Has Played All His Cards In Shinjuku Already
JJK’s last few chapters have seen Sukuna struggle in his fight against the sorcerers. In the battle against Yuta, Sukuna came out second best and suffered great injuries from the misfired Hollow Purple. He was then targeted by Hana Kurusu, and although he managed to survive the Jacob’s Ladder hit from her, he was still struggling quite a bit. Thanks to his second Black Flash, however, he received his reverse cursed technique once again, which meant that he was able to heal his injuries. This was great for Sukuna, as he was almost back to his very best. However, the fight that he was fighting was certainly not an easy one, especially when the likes of Yuji were around.
Farewell, Gojo Satoru! I shall never forget you for as long as I live.
As things stand, Yuji is the only fighter on the battlefield. Yuta, who is in Gojo’s body, is down because his technique has run out. Todo saved Hana by taking a Black Flash from Sukuna in her stead. He, too, is out for the battle, as is Hana. Now, the only one standing is Yuji, and alone, he would struggle against the King of Curses, that is, if he was unchanged from before. However, fans know for a fact that Yuji has leveled up greatly now, and he has truly manifested the pinnacle of his sorcery by utilizing a Domain Expansion.
Yuji’s domain expansion was shown to the fans in JJK chapter 264, and it is safe to say that it is one of the most amazing powers that fans will get to see in the story. For now, fans don’t know much about the domain, but the excitement certainly has built up quite a lot.
How Yuji Manifested A Domain Expansion
Yuji Awakened A Cursed Technique And Imbued It In His Domain
JJK chapter 264 finally showed Yuji’s domain expansion to the fans. He continued his relentless blows on Sukuna, and it was clear for the fans to see that he was getting sharper by the second. Yuji is hyper-focused right now, and every single attack from him is aimed at the King of Curses in an attempt to cut him down and deliver dismantle after dismantle at the space between his and Megumi’s soul. Yuji wants to save Megumi, and he certainly has a plan for it. However, this plan is difficult to execute, which means that he has to rely on greater power.
Thankfully, acquiring higher levels of power isn’t hard for Yuji. This is because he has shared a body with Sukuna, and essentially, his technique has seeped into Yuji as well. Yuji was able to manifest the Shrine cursed technique not so long ago, and now, he has manifested a domain expansion as well.
Fans might be wondering as to how Yuji was able to manifest a domain expansion. The answer to that question is that this is down to none other than Kusakabe, who taught Yuji simple domain and barrier techniques during the time skip. Now that Yuji knows how to manifest a domain, he can imbue his technique into the domain and create a domain expansion, which fans know to be the pinnacle of Jujutsu Sorcery. After attempting to get rid of the King of Curses in many ways, Yuji has now come to the conclusion that the best way to defeat him is using his own domain.
In JJK chapter 264, Yuji formed a very interesting hand seal towards the end of the chapter, and with that, manifested a domain expansion. It is interesting to note that Yuji forms the Jizo Mudra, or Ksitigarbha, and that implies that his role is to guide souls to enlightenment that have no chance of redemption.
Looking at it thematically, this is the absolutely perfect sign for Yuji, and it reaffirms the fact that he is going to be the one to defeat Sukuna once and for all. It also highlights Yuji as the guardian of souls. This aligns very well with his technique to deal damage to souls, and just goes to show that Yuji’s own technique is very dangerous and important as well.
Yuji’s Domain Expansion Revealed
Yuji Itadori Can Utilize Domain Expansion Now
Towards the end of JJK chapter 264, Yuji used domain expansion by forming a unique hand seal. After that, fans got to see this exciting domain battle begin. Inside the domain, however, fans did not actually get to see what happened. But, they did see Yuji speaking to Sukuna, who appeared to be in Yuji’s own body. Either that, or Yuji managed to finish off Sukuna inside this domain, and now he’s getting a similar type of flashback that Gojo did before he finally passed away. Regardless of which way fans look at it, things are not looking good for the King of Curses, and Yuji’s ultimate technique is going to deal deadly damage to him, which might potentially end up saving Megumi.
Beneath the sparks of black, Yuji Itadori Awakens – The Narrator
As to how Yuji will do it, fans can expect a very powerful Cleave or Dismantle to be launched by him in the space between Sukuna and Megumi’s souls. Given that this technique is going to be a guaranteed hit, Sukuna will not be able to dodge it, and essentially be weakened to a point where he will start throwing up fingers and lose control over Megumi’s body. Once he does lose control, it will be easy for Yuji to finish the battle and save his best friend. It is impossible to predict what will happen after the domain battle, but, one can say for sure that Yuji will succeed in bringing back Megumi, and at the same time, likely defeating Sukuna as well. All this will be down to Yuji’s domain expansion.
Things are going to be incredibly exciting from here onwards, and fans cannot wait to see what happens next in JJK.
