Yuji Itadori is the protagonist of JJK and is certainly one of the most important characters in focus in the Culling Game arc right now. The Culling Game arc has seen several amazing fights break out over the course of the last few months and now, it appears that Yuji is taking center stage here. Yuji is currently taking on none other than the King of Curses, and naturally, he has been on the receiving end of some deadly attacks already.
However, while one would expect him to fall after receiving attacks from the strongest character in the story, it appears that Yuji has found a way to recover and that is none other than Reverse Cursed Technique.
Yuji Itadori Vs Sukuna In The Culling Game
Yuji versus Sukuna is a fight that was destined to happen at some point in the story. The basis for this fight was set as soon as Sukuna took over Yuji’s body for the first time. When Sukuna took over Megumi, this fight became even more inevitable and, eventually, it happened after Gojo and Sukuna concluded their fight. Immediately after Gojo returned, fans were able to witness one of the most incredible fights in the entire series. This fight was nothing short of intense and was fought on a very high level. After months and months of combat, both Gojo and Sukuna pushed each other to their absolute limits, and it was a clash which anyone could have emerged victorious out of. Gojo certainly did tremendous damage to Sukuna and the latter did the same to him as well. However, at the end of it all, it was none other than Sukuna who ended up emerging victorious.
When Sukuna emerged as the victor, Kashimo jumped into battle and managed to push him to his true form. However, immediately after Kashimo’s fall, it was none other than Yuji and Higuruma who jumped into battle and did so with quite some style. Higuruma was the focus of the battle at first. His genius was highlighted by Gege quite a lot, and it was he who impressed Sukuna the most at first. However, as was expected, Higuruma ended up falling in battle and was on death’s door when he entrusted everything to Yuji. This turned this amazing fight into a one-on-one between Yuji and Sukuna for a short period of time. Having already received minor injuries from Sukuna himself, this appeared to be a losing battle for Yuji, however, in JJK chapter 248, he managed to surprise all fans by revealing a trump card up his sleeve, Reverse Cursed Technique.
What Is Reverse Cursed Technique?
Reverse Cursed Technique is an incredible ability that makes use of positive energy instead of negative one, which is what cursed technique usually employs. Reverse Cursed Technique is used to heal instead of destroying and that is what makes it truly special. To produce this energy, two negative sources of energy need to be multiplied together and the resultant is a positive source of energy. Mastering reverse cursed technique is quite difficult and even someone like Gojo struggled with it at first. However, once he got a hang of it, he managed to reach a completely new level of power, managing to tap into powers such as Red and, ultimately, Purple.
Similarly, every sorcerer who operates on a higher level has to be a master of reverse cursed technique. Without this ability, there is absolutely no way that they can hold their own against the strong special grade sorcerers or against the King of Curses, such as Sukuna. The very basic application of Reverse Cursed Technique is to heal oneself. At an advanced level, it can be used to heal others. It appears that Yuji has now successfully managed to awaken Reverse Cursed Technique and that makes him one of the strongest sorcerers alive at the moment in the story.
Yuji Awakens Reverse Cursed Technique
Yuji Itadori managed to tap into the power of reverse cursed technique recently in JJK chapter 248. Before this fight, fans did not know that he had the ability to use reverse cursed technique.
In fact, the author even fooled readers by showcasing a flashback of Gege and Higuruma, where the two talk about the lack of reverse cursed technique meaning entering a losing battle with Sukuna by risking their lives. However, Higuruma revealed that he was capable of using reverse cursed technique and, now, it appears that Yuji has managed to do the same. When Yuji versus Sukuna began, the King of Curses was seen launching a very deadly attack on his gut.
This powerful Dismantle completely ripped apart his stomach and opened a massive hole inside. Yuji should technically have died, however, fans knew that he was alive as he was seen trying to attack Sukuna from behind using the Executioner’s Sword. While this technique certainly failed, what Sukuna noticed first of all was that Yuji’s injuries had healed. This was a result of reverse cursed technique and showcased that he too was a user of this ability now.
How Strong Is Yuji’s Reverse Cursed Technique?
Yuji has recently awakened Reverse Cursed Technique. As a result, one cannot expect him to use this ability on the same level as the likes of Gojo and Sukuna. In fact, he likely doesn’t even possess similar skill with this technique as Yuta. However, his Reverse Cursed Technique isn’t bad at all. In fact, it is certainly one of the very best that fans have seen in the story. This is because, in the previous chapters of JJK, it was made quite clear by Kusakabe that taking a point-blank hit from any of Sukuna’s cursed technique, be it Dismantle, Cleave, the World Splitting Slash, or anything else, is deadly, and something that even Reverse Cursed Technique wouldn’t be enough to save the likes of them from it.
Of course, there are exceptions to that rule as fans know that Gojo and others like him can easily heal from those injuries. Now, it appears that Yuji is one of them. He took a point-blank hit from Dismantle to his stomach and should have died even if he was a user of Reverse Cursed Technique. The fact that he was able to heal completely from this point black hit means that his usage of reverse cursed technique is nothing short of amazing. The fact that he has only just awakened this skill means that he still has a lot of room to grow and become one of the strongest RCT users in JJK.
As the fight between Yuji and Sukuna continues, fans will most definitely see him pushing himself beyond all his limits and improving all his skills, including his usage of cursed energy, as well as his ability to use reverse cursed technique to heal himself and potentially even others.
