The Shinjuku Showdown arc of JJK has proven itself to be quite entertaining and fans have witnessed some of the most incredible battles here, as expected of the grandest of all spectacles in the entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen.

While most of the characters that have fought in the Shinjuku showdown arc are familiar ones whose abilities are very well known, there are also quite a few new characters who joined the battle here. At the same time, some of the old characters who took up arms against Sukuna also showcased new cursed techniques, and that is part of why this arc is as incredible as it is. In a plethora of newly introduced techniques, only a handful stand out to be the best.

6 Heart Catch

  • User: Larue
  • Used Against: Ryomen Sukuna

Heart Catch is quite an intriguing ability used by Larue, who, as fans know, is a member of the Geto unit. He was seen extensively in JJK 0, where he played the role of an antagonist. In the Shinjuku Showdown arc, Larue was the one who convinced Miguel to join the battle against Sukuna, and he also played an intriguing role in this combat. Larue saved the life of Ui Ui, and, straight away, fans got a proper look at his cursed technique.

Larue can essentially create a virtual giant hand with his cursed technique. This hand is incredibly useful in battle, and he can control it from a distance in a plethora of ways. He can hold down his target, throw them around, push them back, or pull them towards him. Whatever one can do with the hand, Larue can do with his virtual hand as well. The best thing about this hand is that it can be recreated an infinite number of times. However, the only downside is that if the hand is destroyed or hurt, 1/10th of the damage is transferred to Larue’s real body. Still, it is a great trade-off for gaining the ability to recreate a hand as many times as one wants.

5 Evening Moon Sword Drawing

  • User: Atsushi Kusakabe
  • Used Against: Ryomen Sukuna

Evening Moon Sword Drawing is an incredible technique used by Kusakabe, the strongest Grade One sorcerer in JJK. This cursed technique is a derived technique of the New Shadow Style Simple Domain. Essentially, while using this technique, he takes the regular Iai drawings pose and extends the range of a Simple Domain. Any cursed technique that enters his domain gets weakened, and as a result, he gains quite an advantage.

At the same time, he can detect any cursed technique that enters the domain, even if they are invisible, and this helps him deflect or dodge them effectively. Furthermore, by extending the range of his domain, he can automatically launch attacks at his enemies, which are almost undetectable. Even Sukuna, the King of Curses, could not avoid these attacks.

4 Hakuna Laana

  • User: Miguel
  • Used Against: Ryomen Sukuna

Hakuna Laana is the cursed technique of Miguel, one of the strongest Sorcerers in JJK. Miguel joined the battle against Sukuna quite late in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, and there, he showcased what he was truly capable of. This cursed technique is quite simple. To describe it simply, this is a buff and debuff cursed technique. By embodying the beat in his own body, Miguel can strengthen himself greatly.

Using this technique, he was able to avoid Sukuna’s barrage of Dismantle, and that is certainly something exciting. According to Gojo, this technique is not overpowered, however, it is very good. Gojo best described this cursed technique as one that would enable Miguel to win a short race against him, however, in the long one, Gojo would still prove to be a winner, provided that cursed energy enhancement was all they were using.

3 Mythical Beast Amber

  • User: Kashimo
  • Used Against: Ryomen Sukuna

Mythical Beast Amber is one of the scariest cursed techniques that fans have seen in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. This is a very powerful technique that was utilized by Kashimo. Kashimo was saving this technique, as it can only be used once. After the usage, the body disintegrates and basically the user dies. Simply put, Mythical Beast Amber transforms Kashimo’s body into electricity and allows him to utilize any phenomena that it produces.

Kashimo can attack at blazing fast speed, and at the same time, use sound waves and many other ways to incapacitate his enemies. The power of this cursed technique was such that even Sukuna was unable to hold his own at first, however, this was largely down to the fact that he was battered by Gojo.

2 Authentic Mutual Love

  • User: Yuta Okkotsu
  • Used Against: Ryomen Sukuna

Authentic Mutual love is, quite easily, one of the scariest techniques that fans have seen in JJK. This is the Domain Expansion of Yuta, and it brings out the true power of his cursed technique. Simply put, Authentic Mutual Love sees Yuta’s domain get lined with many katanas. Each katana harbors one curse technique that Yuta has copied inside of it. There are indefinite katanas inside and Yuta can simply pick any one and utilize the cursed technique inside of them. Each cursed technique can be utilized only once through one sword. However, when used, they reappear in the form of another sword that Yuta can later pick up again.

The only downside is that Yuta does not know which sword holds what technique unless he picks them up. Given the number of cursed techniques that he has copied, this domain expansion is truly unstoppable. The scariest part is that Yuta can apply the sure hit effect to any cursed technique that he has copied, such as Sukuna’s Cleave, Dismantle, or even Jacob’s Ladder, among others.

1 World Splitting Dismantle

  • User: Ryomen Sukuna
  • Used Against: Gojo, Kashimo, Higuruma, Yuta, Maki

Sukuna’s World Splitting Dismantle is also among the strongest derived cursed techniques that fans have seen in the Shinjuku Showdown arc.

Simply put, this is a Dismantle the range of which is expanded from the target to the entire world. This slash was what killed Gojo, and, right now, it is one of the strongest techniques in JJK.
