Jujutsu Kaisen continues the incredibly intense battle between Sukuna and the sorcerers in Shinjuku. Fans have seen this battle continue for over a year now, and it has certainly lived up to all expectations, all the while exciting readers on a completely different level. This arc specifically goes down as one of the most exciting ones, with each passing chapter giving fans something new to look forward to.
Of course, there have been many ups and downs in this arc, however, the vast majority of it has been full of good surprises for the fans, and it appears that JJK chapter 260 has now returned with yet another massive surprise, showcasing the return of the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, against the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.
Gojo Satoru’s Death In JJK
Gojo Lost His Life After Being Hit With A World Splitting Dismantle
Gojo and Sukuna clashed in Shinjuku in a proper battle that lasted for many chapters. This battle was incredibly exciting, right from the beginning, when Gojo unleashed a 200% Hollow Purple to announce his arrival on the battlefield, and Sukuna blocked it with his hands infused with cursed energy. Ever since that point, this battle had been neck and neck, with both Gojo and Sukuna fighting incredibly well to counter the abilities of the other. Fans got to witness multiple domain clashes between them, and, eventually, both of them losing access to their powerful domains as well. After an incredible fight, which could have gone either way, Sukuna emerged on top as he managed to expand the target of his technique to the entire world and bypass Gojo’s Infinity.
Farewell, Gojo Satoru! I shall never forget you for as long as I live.
With that, he was able to slice through Gojo’s body, and end the battle for good. Gojo’s body was left right there, and fans even got a flashback of this particular character meeting up with his old comrades in a plane of existence between life and death. There, it was heavily implied that Gojo had now died. However, a room for his return was certainly left open by the author.
Gege himself left clues in the story pertaining to Gojo’s return. For instance, the very first clue was in the chapter where Gojo died. It was mentioned in the chapter that if an individual is content with their life and happy with how they are, they can choose to go south in the afterlife. However, if they choose to seek a newer version of themselves, then they should go north. While the chapter title in itself was “Going South,” fans knew that a character like Gojo would never be content with that.
Down the line, the author revealed more hints about Gojo potentially returning. The biggest hint of them all was that Gojo’s body was moved by Ui Ui using his cursed technique and taken back to Shoko. Fans know that Shoko is a master of reversed curse technique, and that is precisely how Gojo could have been healed and sent back to the battlefield in order to finish the job that he started, and take down the King of Curses, Sukuna.
Gojo Returns In JJK Chapter 260
Gojo Finally Appeared In Front Of Sukuna Again
In JJK chapter 260, fans got to see an incredibly exciting battle brewing between the duo of Yuji and Todo, and Sukuna. Using the power of Boogie Woogie, Todo caused all sorts of problems for Sukuna. He was surprised to know that it is practically impossible to adapt to the power of Boogie Woogie, especially after it has gotten stronger. Todo can essentially swap places up to 50 times in a second, which makes this technique incredibly overpowered. If that isn’t enough, then fans also need to keep in mind that the range of Boogie Woogie has now been extended ridiculously far. Todo was able to save all the sorcerers inside the domain other than Choso in the previous chapter by actually expanding the range of his technique from outside the domain. This is an incredibly massive range for this cursed technique and while it isn’t lethal, one can see how it causes Sukuna so many problems.
Sukuna had seen…what his hands had buried. The ghost of the strongest!
The continuous swapping gave Yuji the opportunity to plunge his claws deep into the chest of the King of Curses, and to this, Sukuna looked to counter by opening his domain once again. Even though Sukuna exhausted his cursed technique in the previous chapter, he has picked up the ability to restore his burnt-out cursed technique using reverse cursed technique from Gojo. As he prepared to open his domain once again, something distracted Sukuna. By looking to his left, he clearly saw a shadowy figure emerging from the smoke and this individual was Gojo.
The narrator made it clear that the strongest’s ghost that Sukuna buried all by himself has now returned. At the same time, the editor’s comments mentioned that this individual possesses unmistakable eyes, and clearly, this is a reference to Gojo’s Six Eyes. Now, Gojo Satoru has returned to the battle and fans are incredibly excited to see how his fight against Sukuna continues.
Gojo Vs Sukuna Continues
Gojo Vs Sukuna Looks Set To Continue In Jujutsu Kaisen
With the return of Gojo Satoru now confirmed, fans know that a second round of the battle is up next. Gojo is not in the best of shapes and certainly not at his strongest, given that he would just have been healed, but he would still be a massive threat to Sukuna. In fact, it will be incredibly exciting to see how Gojo takes the battle from here on. Meanwhile, Sukuna is already on his last legs. That said, fans also need to keep in mind that Uraume pointed out that Sukuna grows stronger when the flames of battle grow hotter as well. Sukuna might not have been bringing out his best, and Gojo’s return to the battlefield might push him beyond his limits as well, which makes for an exciting battle to come.
This time, however, Gojo will have Yuji by his side, as well as Todo. Together, all three of them can take down the King of Curses, and put an end to this incredibly long battle. This is certainly going to be worth it and fans can rest assured that Gojo is going to play a massive role in defeating Sukuna and saving the remaining Sorcerers for good.
The next few chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen will most likely be the most exciting ones in the entirety of the Shinjuku Showdown arc, and fans simply cannot wait to see how Gojo’s return was made possible and how this affects the story going forward. For now, fans simply have to sit back and patiently wait to see things unfold, and while they are at it, theorize, because that is the essence of reading any story, anyway.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, is set to be May 26, 2024.
