Jujutsu Kaisen does a very clear and concise job of telling who the most powerful characters are right at the start. This ends up setting an amazing framework as well as a very easy-to-define power hierarchy of the world. Since his introduction to the series, Gojo has been notorious within Jujutsu society as being a sorcerer so incredibly powerful that he is on an entirely separate level from even the strongest grades of sorcerers.
However, the reason for this level of power is not only due to the offensive and defensive capabilities of his Limitless technique but also the incredible enhancement in perception and control over his cursed energy that is given to him with his Six Eyes. Due to this, Yuta Okkotsu, another Special Grade sorcerer, stated that despite himself having the greatest amount of cursed energy out of everyone in the series, Gojo’s Six Eyes grants him a masterful control of his energy, making it seem as if Gojo’s cursed energy is effectively unlimited.

History of the Six Eyes
The Six Eyes is an inherited gift that is unique to the Gojo clan. Along with the clan’s signature technique called Limitless, the Six Eyes is yet another aspect that is passed down and inherited by newer members when they are born. However, unlike Limitless, this ability is not granted to everyone in the clan. The conjunction of Limitless and Six Eyes within a single user is so rare that Satoru was the first member of the Gojo clan to have been born with both in around 400 years.
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, the Six Eyes have always been bound to the Star Plasma Vessel and Master Tengen by fate, meaning that this technique is always linked to them whenever it manifests itself in a user. In the past, while trying to achieve his goals, Kenjaku had been defeated by users of the Six Eyes twice at different points in time. After suffering his second defeat, Kenjaku would then go on to kill another wielder of the Six Eyes a mere month after they were born.
However, despite Kenjaku repeatedly killing the Star Plasma Vessel as well, the Six Eyes would always seem to reappear alongside the Vessel on the day of the merger with Master Tengen. However, in the Hidden Inventory arc, Toji Fushiguro would sever this connection. This was because he was a person who had completely cast himself away from fate due to his lack of cursed energy, destroying their destinies with his involvement and ultimately leading to Gojo getting sealed in the Prison Realm by Kenjaku.

How do the Six Eyes work?
Unlike the Limitless, the Six Eyes is not a technique. Instead, it is defined as being a very rare, inherited gift that is unique to the Gojo clan. The way that the Six Eyes works is by granting the user with incredible perception of cursed energy as well as complete mastery of their own. In all of recorded history, no two users of the Six Eyes have ever been present at the same time.
The perception and the overall visual prowess granted to the user by this gift are completely unparalleled. However, the visual enhancement can also be very straining for the user of the Six Eyes, due to which Gojo wears a blindfold. It also allows the user to see several kilometers away from their current location and can even distinguish between different people and shapes at that range.
The biggest advantage of having this gift is the way it works in tandem with the Limitless technique by allowing the user to control their cursed energy almost perfectly, down to the atomic level. This lets the user utilize all the perks of Limitless to their maximum efficiency, all while having essentially no wastage of cursed energy. Due to this, having the Six Eyes means the user will effectively have infinite cursed energy reserves.
Aside from realizing the full power of the Limitless technique, the Six Eyes can also read the flow of others’ cursed energy, making it the perfect tool in combat situations against sorcerers or cursed spirits. Due to this trait, the user can read their opponents’ cursed technique while it’s being used and quickly determine its function, allowing them to analyze the situation perfectly and counter it.

The Six Eyes is also a passive trait that seems to require no cursed energy to work, but prolonged usage can begin to fatigue the user. This requires them to wear some sort of medium between the eyes such as a blindfold or dark sunglasses. However, to use the Six Eyes at its full power, the eyes themselves need to be uninhibited and the most powerful techniques of a user, like Hollow Purple or Unlimited Void, can only be used without a medium for the Six Eyes.
However, despite all of its advantages, the Six Eyes is not a perfect technique without any weaknesses. In the Hidden Inventory arc, we saw how Toji Fushiguro was able to take advantage of the Six Eyes by putting a bounty on Riko with the money promised to him by the Time Vessel Association. Because of this, Toji essentially invited assassins and curse users from all across Japan to take out Riko, making the threats on her life ever more frequent.
To keep an eye out for threats, Gojo barely slept and was always surveying the area, looking for people who might try to make a move. Gojo was extremely exhausted by the end of the journey, wearing down the effectiveness of the Six Eyes substantially. This was capitalized on by Toji who was able to defeat Gojo and complete the contract on Riko. The tactic was seen again in the Shibuya Incident when Gojo activated his Domain Expansion for 0.2 seconds and ran across all of the Shibuya train stations to kill transfigured humans, leading to him being extremely exhausted again and getting trapped in the Prison Realm.
