Highlights

  • Gojo forms strong bonds with his students, taking them under his wing and valuing their potential and skills.
  • Despite their different personalities and ideologies, Gojo remains loyal to his friends, even in difficult situations.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, no character is more popular than Jujutsu Sorcerer Satoru Gojo. Gojo is not only a huge fan favorite but also the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer of modern times due to his immense powers. In Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo teaches young Jujutsu Sorcerers how to develop their cursed energy to save peoples’ lives from Japan’s ever-growing number of curses.

Being the chosen one of the Gojo Clan has made Gojo widely renowned and acknowledged in the jujutsu world thanks to being gifted the Limitless technique and Six Eyes. Along Gojo’s journey to becoming the strongest around, many friendships were developed both in his adolescence and in his adult years.

7 Utahime Iori

Gojo’s Fellow Jujutsu Teacher

Utahime and Gojo are teachers at Japan’s two major jujutsu high schools in Tokyo and Kyoto respectively. Utahime specifically teaches at Kyoto Jujutsu High School, overseeing students such as Todo and Mai Zenin. When Utahime and Gojo attend the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, Utahime appears to find Gojo infuriating, while Gojo constantly pokes fun at his former classmate.

Gojo’s jokes aimed at Utahime have been constant since their high school days, although, underneath all the joking, the pair are friends who will always back each other up regarding essential matters in the jujutsu world.

6 Yuji Itadori

Gojo’s Star Student

Yuji Itadori is the show’s main protagonist and one of the most talented Jujutsu Sorcerers, similar to his mentor, Gojo. From their first interaction, Gojo took a liking to Yuji and his personality despite being the vessel for the king of curses, Sukuna.

With all the Jujutsu leaders wanting Yuji dead, Gojo stands up for him by taking Yuji under his wing to be a part of the first years at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. Yuji receives one-on-one training with Gojo to help him get stronger, with Gojo valuing the immense potential Yuji has through his athletic abilities.

5 Megumi Fushigoro

Gojo’s First Year Student

Not only is Megumi Gojo’s student, but he is also Megumi’s benefactor. Originally belonging to the Zenin clan, Megumi is the son of Toji Fushigoro, the elusive sorcerer who defeated Geto and even severely wounded Gojo in battle.

Due to his father’s death at the hands of Gojo, Megumi becomes a Jujutsu Sorcerer due to Gojo’s belief that the Zenin clan would mistreat Megumi’s sister, Tsumiki. Since attending Tokyo Jujutsu High School, Megumi has forged a strong relationship with Gojo despite the pair’s polar opposite personalities.

4 Mei Mei

Gojo’s School Friend

Mei Mei is one of Gojo’s many friends while attending Tokyo Jujutsu High School. While in school, Mei was ahead of Gojo, leading to Mei becoming a mentor to the lower-year students Gojo and Geto as they developed their skills.

Despite Mei’s priorities of money and greed, she has still garnered praise for her battle skills, with Gojo even stating Mei is a strong grade 1 sorcerer. Mei is even present at the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event alongside Gojo, showing how highly Gojo values Mei.

3 Shoko Ieiri

Gojo’s Classmate

Gojo’s bond with Shoko was established due to the pair being in the same year group at Tokyo Jujutsu High School alongside Geto. Although great friends with Gojo, Shoko is well aware of Gojo and Geto’s friendship, as Shoko often lets the pair fool around. Shoko stayed loyal to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, where she now operates as a doctor.

When Yuji seemingly dies during the first year’s mission at the prison, Gojo relies on Shoko to oversee Yuji’s body by completing an autopsy. This action shows Gojo’s reliance on his former classmate, despite Shoko’s lack of screen time in the show.

2 Kento Nanami

Gojo’s Trusty Friend

In Jujutsu Kaisen, Nanami is one of Gojo’s most trusted friends due to their past together at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. Being a student alongside Gojo allowed the pair to know each other as they developed into successful Jujutsu Sorcerers.

Gojo’s trust in Nanami is shown in his decision to entrust his gifted student, Yuji, to Nanami. During this time, Namami and Yuji investigate deaths caused by curses, eventually finding the curse Mahito. In the Shibuya arc, Nanami plays a vital role in trying to rescue Gojo, showing his loyalty to one of his best friends.

1 Suguru Geto

Gojo’s Best Friend

Suguru Geto is Gojo’s greatest friend in Jujutsu Kaisen. Despite Geto’s evil ideals, Gojo and Geto were best friends through being in the same year at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. Being both special-grade Jujutsu Sorcerers, the pair share a qualification barely any sorcerers have. As evidenced in season 2, Geto and Gojo have a unique connection despite their differing views on how the jujutsu world functions.

When Geto is dying in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Gojo is there to speak to his old friend he grew up with for much of his life, showing how much he values Geto despite their differences.
