  • The final showdown between Pucci and the protagonist, Emporio, leads to the prevention of Heaven’s reset, creating a new peaceful universe.

Unlike most main antagonists in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Stone Ocean’s Enrico Pucci is driven by what he deems a noble goal but is in reality a horrific plan. Pucci’s Heaven Plan proposes a utopia for all of humanity by using a cosmic-level powered Stand ability obtained through a ritualistic and specific method. But Pucci’s callousness comes into conflict with his supposed altruistic objective. He follows this plan like a religious zealot rather than a truly noble man, as this whole ordeal was devised by the man he sees as a god.

While watching JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Stone Ocean, fans may often find Enrico Pucci’s Heaven Plan confusing. His motives, methods, what the plan entails, and the ending the story receives because of the plan remains confusing twenty years later after the original manga. Here’s everything you need to know about Enrico Pucci’s Heaven Plan.

A Fateful Encounter

A young Enrico Pucci, while studying to become a priest, had a fateful encounter with a mysterious man who claimed to be allergic to sunlight. A man who preached about the idea of “gravity” and how it attracts kindred individuals. Pucci became infatuated and close friends with this man. His name was Dio Brando.

Dio and Enrico became incredibly close, so much so that some may say their relationship was rather romantic. Dio eventually shares his knowledge and wisdom about humanity and Stands with the young priest. And one day he told Pucci about his idea for “Heaven”. A world where humans would know true happiness without worrying about their future and living in bliss.

Dio wrote the entirety of his plan in his notebook, and after his defeat it was read and later destroyed by the man who killed him, Jotaro Kujo. Jotaro became the biggest target of the remnants of Dio’s followers, mostly out for him for revenge, while Pucci needed him for something more specific. Enrico Pucci possesses the Stand, Whitesnake, an almost sentient humanoid stand with the ability to remove someone’s memories or their stand with a tangible disc. Pucci used Whitesnake to steal Jotaro’s memories, and with that, he knew Dio’s Heaven Plan and every step needed to fulfill it.

The Path to Heaven

Dio wrote cryptic instructions in his notebook, something only someone very close to him would decipher and be able to follow;

What you need is my Stand “The World”. What you can find beyond the powers of my Stand is where you need to go in order to find
Heaven
. What you need is a trustworthy friend. He must be someone capable of controlling his own desires. He must be someone who is not interested in political power, fame, wealth, or sexual desire, and who chooses the will of God before the law of humans. What I also need is the lives of more than 36 humans who have sinned, because those who have sinned harbor a strong power within.

There are 14 phrases that one must keep in mind:

Spiral staircase

Rhinoceros beetle

Desolation Row

Fig tart

Rhinoceros beetle

Via Dolorosa

Rhinoceros beetle

Singularity point

Giotto

Angel

Hydrangea

Rhinoceros beetle

Singularity point

Secret Emperor

I’ll engrave these words onto my Stand so I won’t forget them. What is most necessary is “courage”; I must have the courage to destroy my Stand momentarily. As it disintegrates, my Stand will absorb the souls of the 36 sinners and will give birth to something utterly new. Whatever is born will “awaken”. It will show interest in the 14 phrases that my trusted friend will utter… My friend will trust me and I will become his “friend”. Lastly, I need an appropriate location. North latitude, 28 degrees, 24 minutes, West longitude, 80 degrees, 36 minutes…

Go there and wait for the New Moon…

That’s when
Heaven
will come.

Dio’s trustworthy friend turned out to be Enrico Pucci, who saw and loved Dio like a god. Only Pucci could fulfill this plan on Dio’s behalf. And Dio’s Stand The World manifested as a spirit once Sports Maxx used his stand, Limp Bizkit, to bring it back to life as an invisible zombie using Dio’s bone, a gift Pucci received from him during their time together.

During the frenetic battle at the Maximum Security Ward, Jolyne Kujo was surrounded by thirty-six individuals responsible for horrific crimes, thus fulfilling the requirement for the thirty-six souls of sinners. During the battle, The World’s essence is fused with these criminals, birthing a unique creature that will be a key factor for the remainder of the plan, the Green Baby.

After Jolyne and Anasui failed to retrieve the Green Baby, Enrico Pucci spoke the fourteen phrases to it, successfully fusing with the creature, allowing both Pucci and his stand to evolve. And then came the final step of the plan. Pucci traveled to the Kennedy Space Center, the location the coordinates pointed to, and while fighting against Jolyne and her crew, Pucci’s new Stand, C-Moon, reached the optimal position at the right time, further evolving into Made in Heaven, and thus, the plan reached its final stage.

The Final Countdown

Pucci’s Made in Heaven wields the passive ability to accelerate the passage of time gradually. And the purpose of this is the true nature of Heaven. Made in Heaven will accelerate time until the universe experiences a new big bang, and is essentially born again, but containing every living person that existed before. Heaven requires two resets, one to set it off and one to complete. With the completion of Heaven, humans will live anew, but with their souls experiencing their past lives, they will have complete knowledge of their past lives, including their entire future. And through that, according to Pucci and Dio’s beliefs, humans will no longer live with the dreadful uncertainty of their future, they will know everything that will happen in their lives, and in theory, live peacefully and in bliss as they don’t need to worry about their fate,

The final warrior standing against Pucci and Made in Heaven was Emporio Alniño, who was saved by the noble sacrifice of Jolyne Kujo, and against all odds, Emporio employed Weather Report, the stand belonging to Enrico Pucci’s brother, Domenico Pucci also known as Weather Report. Emporio manages to kill Pucci, successfully stopping Heaven’s reset mid-way.

The result of the interruption of the process was a brand-new universe that, by the will of Emporio, allowed the Joestar family to live well and in peace, without the torment of Dio Brando.
