The Story of The Cool Female Colleague and The Ice Guy
The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is a josei manga series created by Miyuki Tonogaya, who originally launched it on social media in 2019. The series gained popularity quickly and is now serialized on the Gangan pixiv platform. It remains ongoing with six volumes published so far.
The story is centered on the relationship between two coworkers, Himuro-kun and Fuyutsuki-san, who constantly interact at work and company events. Himuro-kun is a descendant of the legendary snow spirit. Whenever his emotions get out of hand, he accidentally creates snowstorms, snowmen and other icy objects.
Himuro-kun is a new employee at a company and develops a secret crush on his coworker, Fuyutsuki-san, a kind and calm woman according to other colleagues. At times, Himuro-kun’s feelings for her are so overpowering that he accidentally freezes any object or person around him. Luckily, Fuyutsuki-san is oblivious to anything around her -- but is also interested in the mysterious Himuro-kun.

ZERO-G and Liber released the official trailer of The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague in November. It features the two main protagonists, Himuro-kun and Fuyutsuki-san. The latter is walking on a bridge and encounters Himuro-kun, and the two stare longingly at one another as the cherry blossom petals fall from the trees. The anime will premiere on January 4, 2023, in Japan and will be available to stream on Crunchyroll in North America and Ani-One Asia for international audiences.

The Ice Guy and HIs Cool Female Colleague is directed by Mankyu for studio ZERO-G and Liber, while character designs are created by Miyako Kano (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It) and the music is composed by Ruka Kawada (Is the Order a Rabbit?). Takao Sakuma will perform the anime's opening theme song “Frozen Midnight” and Nowlu will perform the ending theme song, “Rinaria.”
