Final Destination: Bloodlines: What Fans Want To See In The Horror Sequel

Highlights

  • Fans eagerly await Final Destination: Bloodlines, hoping for more realistic deaths and complex character development.
  • The new film should focus on smart, relatable characters to heighten the stakes and maintain audience investment.
  • With a new cast announced for the movie, fans are excited for the sixth installment after a long wait.

Ever since Final Destination 5 was released in 2011, fans wondered if that was really the end of the memorable and fun horror franchise. The concept of characters surviving horrific accidents and then being haunted by Death itself feels like it could go on forever. When Final Destination 6 was announced, it was exciting news. Now that the movie has a title,

Final Destination: Bloodlines, fans wonder how it will compare to the previous installments.

While there is no official release date, fans can likely see Final Destination: Bloodlines in 2025. In the meantime, fans have a lot of thoughts about Final Destination: Bloodlines, from the opening scene to the characters.

What Do Fans Want To Happen In Final Destinations: Bloodlines?

When thinking about Final Destination: Bloodlines, several fans want the sixth movie to feel more real. One Redditor wrote, “Practical FX with barely any CGI.” Redditor @Used_Attitude2432 said, “Have more “realistic” deaths, and less over the top ones like though the movies they got more and more unlikeable to happen in real life. I want deaths that look more like accidents.” Since the death scenes are the most memorable part of Final Destination, it would make sense to go in a different direction for this movie.

Redditor @rinkamaokaofficial wrote that Final Destination: Bloodlines needs character development and layered storylines. They wrote:

“Since FD is fundamentally man versus environment, and most scenes involve a single person versus the world, it definitely helps when the ensemble has complex relationships — betrayals, plots, conflicts, etc.”

This is a great idea since it could balance out the gory moments and big surprises. Some could say Final Destination 3 is the franchise’s best movie because the third movie follows a solid final girl character, Wendy Christensen (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). The movie shows her as a relatable teenager who is grieving the terrible events she has been through when she thought she was planning for her future. Hopefully the characters in Final Destination: Bloodlines are just as well-crafted.

The same Redditor also wants smart and relatable characters in Final Destination: Bloodlines. Since the franchise is about following certain people who have cheated Death, it’s especially important for them to be clever and interesting. If they’re dull or feel like too many other horror movie characters, or if fans don’t learn anything about them, then the stakes don’t feel as high. There have to be a few people who audiences are invested in. The fan wrote:

“More down to earth characters like FD2 (where everyone had different ages and personalities) and FD5 (where everyone was intelligent).”

Redditor @Dczerpak1 has thoughts on how the sixth movie in the horror franchise should begin. The fan wrote, “I always thought it would be cool if the opening disaster happens as usual with mass death and destruction but the visionist’s loved one makes it like in 5.” They continued:

“It rewinds and plays out like normal, the visionist tells everyone and most of the people are saved. However, doing this causes their loved one to be killed. The film rewinds again (you could even have one version rewind into their right eye and the other to the left eye). Now our main character has to make a choice what to do or is there a way to save everyone?”

The fan referred to the end of Final Destination 5 when the main characters see Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) and Carter Horton (Kerr Smith) being told to leave the flight to Paris. Since this ending went back to the beginning of the franchise, it was a fresh and smart way to conclude the movie. Now that fans have watched five opening scenes, it’s time to do something different and particularly memorable with the sixth film.
