What Happens At The End Of Evil Dead Rise?
At the end of Evil Dead Rise, the story takes a brutal turn as Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) comes into the apartment and tries to remove the baby from Beth’s stomach, which is as horrifying as it sounds. Kassie (Nell Fisher) and Beth (Lily Sullivan) stop Ellie. The death toll rises with Bridget killing Danny, who of course is now possessed. By now, the residents of the apartment building have become demonically possessed. While these action-packed scenes feel familiar to fans of the Evil Dead franchise, the fact that the movie is set in an apartment makes it compelling and eerie.
As Kassie and Beth hide in the elevator, Bridget, Danny, and Ellie become The Marauder, a terrible creature, and jump on the elevator which becomes a bloody mess. Kassie and Beth become horror movie final girls by using a wood chipper to hurt the Marauder and stop them from sawing Kassie’s head off. The Evil Dead Rise ending examines the movie’s theme of motherhood when Ellie’s head, which is now separate from her body, tells Beth that she won’t be a good parent.

When Danny discovers a book in the parking lot of the apartment building, it turns out that this is a Naturom Demonto text, which of course is what leads to Ellie becoming possessed. The book of the three Necronomicons in Evil Dead Rise is different from the others, which sets this movie apart.
Evil Dead Rise centers around Ellie’s transformation, and Alyssa Sutherland enjoyed starring in the movie. She was interviewed by The Mary Sue and talked about the memorable elevator scene. She said:
“It was so much fun. I love being in harnesses and being thrown about as well. There’s a stunt that I have in the elevator where I kind of go from the top of the elevator and fall to the bottom. That stunt was really fun. That brief period of time where you feel weightless and you’re falling is really addictive.”

“I certainly do. I didn’t want to bait it for sequels necessarily, even though the ending could be interpreted that way. But the ending for me was closing the loop back to the beginning. The way the story is told, I’ve got four places I’d like to look at in terms of where to go… I’m excited for the potential of what could be next and and really hope that I can be involved in in future chapters.”
