The anime commenced with a special one-hour episode, now available for streaming outside Japan on Crunchyroll. The Swordsmith Village Arc begins in volume 10 of the manga. VIZ provides the following description of the story:
Muzan Kibutsuji's Twelve Kizuki, the upper ranks of his demon subordinates, are not fully replenished for the first time in over a century. Enraged by this, Muzan assigns the remaining members a new mission.
