Highlights

  • Tengen Uzui, despite being poisoned and losing limbs, never gave up in battle, making significant contributions to the fight against demons.

The sheer amount of love fans have for Demon Slayer can’t be stated enough. The series propelled itself to the top of the popularity charts by showing off some glorious animation, with Ufotable going above and beyond to ensure that viewers were spellbound by the high level of animation on display in each episode.

Battles in Demon Slayer look incredible, especially when characters have the stamina required to fight in long-lasting battles where they must overpower their opposition and take them by surprise with a vast repertoire of powerful moves. Some of the characters in Demon Slayer excel in this department and can last in battles of attrition without facing too many problems in the process.

1 Genya Shinazugawa

Compensates For His Lack Of Breathing Styles By Consuming Demons

  • First Appearance: Final Selection (Episode 4)

Genya is a unique character in Demon Slayer. He lacks any breathing styles, which would make most people think that he’s not powerful in the slightest. However, he more than makes up for this drawback by showing off a unique power that no other demon slayer has — the ability to consume the flesh of demons to temporarily gain their powers.

No matter how fatigued he gets, he can always regain his stamina as long as he can consume the flesh of demons. It may be a pretty disturbing ability to have, but it’s a helpful one nevertheless that this demon slayer can rely on to turn the tide of battle against his enemies.

2 Kyojuro Rengoku

Fought Till His Last Breath

  • First Appearance: Against Corps Rules (Episode 21)

The Flame Hashira is one of the most beloved characters in Demon Slayer even though he didn’t stick around for too long. He made a strong impression during the Mugen Train arc, using a wealth of techniques to save the civilians from Enmu’s dastardly presence.

After a relentless bout of fighting before the Mugen Train could be stopped once and for all, Rengoku was forced into a fight once again against the dreaded Akaza. Despite being pushed to the very limit and suffering a fatal blow, he didn’t stop fighting until his last breath and almost forced Akaza to burn as the sun came up.

3 Tengen Uzui

The Sound Hashira Who Never Gave Up Even After Being Poisoned And Losing Both His Eye & Hand

  • First Appearance: Against Corps Rules (Episode 21)

The Entertainment District is a wild arc where the heroes go toe-to-toe against two Upper Rank Demons who waste no time in carrying out Muzan’s will. Tanjiro and the Sound Hashira get roped into a battle with Gyutaro, while Inosuke and Zenitsu fight Daki with all their might.

Tengen’s contributions to the battle are especially noteworthy. Throughout this gruesome battle, the Sound Hashira is poisoned and maimed. Losing both an eye and an arm would stop anyone in their tracks, but he didn’t give up and pushed Gyutaro time and time again. Without his relentless effort, the Upper Rank Six duo would’ve made quick work of the rest of the demon slayers.

4 Muichiro Tokito

The Mist Hashira Awakens The Demon Slayer Mark And Takes Out Gyokko In A Battle For The Ages

  • First Appearance: Against Corps Rules (Episode 21)

During the Swordsmith Village arc, the demon slayers finally realize how they can turn the tide of battle against their enemies. After almost drowning at the hands of Gyokko, an emotional moment leads to him remembering his past before awakening the Demon Slayer Mark to receive a massive boost in power.

So, despite being poisoned and low on oxygen, Muichiro displays a level of power that shocks Gyokko to no end. The Mist Hashira whips out a bevy of moves that show Gyokko who’s boss before single-handedly taking out the Upper Rank Five in a glorious display of strength.

5 Tanjiro Kamado

Pushes His Body To The Limits To Take Out The Many Demons Standing In His Way

  • First Appearance: Cruelty (Episode 1)

The protagonist of the series has made it clear time and time again that he has a never-say-die attitude. Despite facing a wealth of demons that could’ve taken him out at any second, Tanjiro’s sheer doggedness lets him make up for a loss in stamina by willing his body against all the odds to take out the threats that stand in his way.

Even when he hadn’t unlocked the full power of Sun Breathing, Tanjiro never gave up and used a style he wasn’t naturally inclined towards to repeatedly defeat his enemies. He’s one of the most determined characters in the series and showcases near-endless levels of endurance and stamina when the lives of his friends and family are on the line.

6 Muzan Kibutsuji

The Demon King Boasts Nigh-Endless Stamina

  • First Appearance: Muzan Kibutsuji (Episode 7)

It’s downright cheating to add a demon here, given how pretty much all of them can regenerate and not get very tired as long as they’re functioning in the dead of night. However, Muzan’s abilities far surpass any demon he’s created. Fans of the manga likely know what fuels his body even further…

Demon slayers will have to be clever to take out this fearsome demon. This mighty foe has the capacity to take out every Hashira in sight without kicking up too much of a fuss.
