5 Zenitsu’s Remarkable Transformation
Jigoro Kuwajima’s Disciple Receives Heartbreaking News
Zenitsu Agatsuma is known for his sheepish and cowardly nature, as he tries his best to avoid facing demons and shows far more interest in finding an ideal woman for himself. In the Hashira Training Arc, the members of the Demon Slayer Corps undergo harsh training in preparation for the battle that is about to unfold. Zenitsu initially shows no interest in pushing himself to become a better warrior, but everything changes once he receives a mysterious letter.
I hate myself more than anyone. I always think I have to get my act together, but I end up cowering, running away, sniveling. I want to change. I want to be a competent person.
It turns out that Zenitsu’s mentor, Jigoro Kuwajima, had committed seppuku after learning that one of his disciples became a member of the Twelve Kizuki. The terrifying news shakes Zenitsu to the core, and he isolates himself. He then becomes singularly focused on just one goal: to avenge the death of his gramps who adopted him and saved him from a life of servitude. Zenitsu’s vow to give Jigoro justice sets the stage for an epic battle in the Infinity Castle unlike any other.
4 Nakime’s Ascension To Upper-Rank Four
Following Hatengu’s Death In The Swordsmith Village, Muzan Rewards His Loyal Servant
Nakime has been Muzan’s most loyal ally ever since she became a demon. Her Blood Demon Art allows her to create an extra-dimensional fortress that has been very useful for the Demon King over the years. So when Upper-Rank Four Hantengu dies, leaving a position in the Twelve Kizuki empty, Muzan realizes that it’s the right time for Nakime to join the league of his most powerful underlings.
Nakime’s ascension to Upper-Rank Four marks a shift in the centuries-old human-demon struggle. Soon after her promotion, the war between Muzan’s evil forces and the Demon Slayer Corps breaks out in full. In such a dramatic circumstances, Nakime finds herself at the center of the conflict as the battle takes place in the Infinity Castle, which she controls. Now she has the opportunity to pay back Muzan for the trust he showed in her, but as the stakes are so high, failure could have dangerous consequences.
3 Tanjiro’s Vow Of Vengeance
Kamado Confronts Muzan And Promises Revenge For His Crimes
After losing his family, Tanjiro Kamado has trained relentlessly for the day that he finally gets to fight Muzan and make him pay for the suffering that he has inflicted on the world. As Muzan gets caught in the trap set up by Kagaya, Tanjiro feels that he now has the chance to take revenge for his family members. Unfortunately, this feeling is short-lived as Nakime uses her Blood Demon Art to trap him along with other members of the Demon Slayer Corps, in the Infinity Castle.
As Tanjiro descends into the depths of the Infinity Castle, he tells the Demon King that he won’t let him escape, but before he can get to Muzan, Tanjiro must face the Upper-Rank Three who killed Kyojuro Rengoku. Flame Hashira’s death left a traumatic impact on members of the Corps and shook them deeply. Tanjiro helplessly witnessed the tragedy unfold right in front of his eyes and has ever since wished to avenge Kyojuro’s death. As he confronts Akaza in the Infinity Castle, he finally has the chance to take down the Upper-Rank Three and hopefully fight the Demon King himself.
2 Shinobu Kocho Prepares For War
As An All-Out War Seems Inevitable, Insect Hashira Meets Kanao
Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho has hidden a painful past behind her sweet smile for a long time. Her life had been rough from a young age, but it had become a nightmare when she lost her sister Kanae. In the Hashira Training Arc, she summons Kanao for an important discussion. Aware of the circumstances, it appeared that Shinobu knew that an all-out war with the demons was in the cards.
I once believed that the road of happiness continued forever and ever into the distance. When it was destroyed, I realized for the first time that it lies upon a thin sheet of glass.
When Shinobu meets Kanao, she tells her that a demon had killed the late Flower Hashira and her sister Kanaeo Kocho a long time ago. Now, she wants to avenge her death and, for that, she needs Kanao’s help. It turns out that Kanae’s killer is none other than the manipulative Upper-Rank Two, Doma. Since he is one of the most frightening demons in existence, it is obvious that the Insect Hashira could never defeat him in a one-on-one confrontation. Therefore, to take down Doma, Shinobu develops a twisted strategy that sets the stage for an intense fight that’s sure to result in deadly consequences.
1 Kagaya’s Death And Its Far-Reaching Repurcusions
As Hashiras Lose Their Beloved Mentor, They Fixate On Exterminating Demons
As the 97th Head of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kagaya Ubuyashiki served the ancient organization for many years and was directly involved in recruiting some of the most talented combatants of the present generation. He was a beloved leader who commanded respect and loyalty because of his selfless nature. Like others in the Ubuyashiki family, Kagaya had a heightened foresight that helped him predict future events with remarkable precision. This intuition not only allowed him gain wealth but also helped him avoid unexpected crises.
In the Hashira Training Arc, Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s health continued to deteriorate, and he was bedridden. Thanks to his precognition, he knew that Muzan would arrive at the Ubuyashiki estate sooner rather than later. In order to catch him off guard, Kagaya set up an elaborate trap. He then convinced Gyomei Himejima to attack the Demon King with the help of Tamayo when the time was right.
A critical aspect of his plan was the required self-sacrifice in which Kagaya killed himself along with his wife and two kids. The entire strategy is executed in a manner that Ubuyashiki’s death infuriates the Demon Slayers and ignites a fierce resolve to kill Muzan and his underlings. Now, as they engage in an all-out war with demons, Kagaya’s disciples are prepared to put their bodies on the line to avenge their master.
