The Marvel comics feature Wolverine and Deadpool across many different timelines and situations, and their relationship always has them butt heads in an iconic rivalry. Since their healing factor is so great, it’s no surprise that they often slice and dice each other up for the love of the game. Yet, Deadpool has arguably done far worse to Wolverine.
6 Forces Wolverine To Watch His Children Die On Repeat
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe #3
In another universe separate from 616, Deadpool has his mind catastrophically altered by villains that cause him to go on a killing spree, with the one goal of killing the Marvel Universe itself with everyone in it. As such, he found that the best way to deal with Wolverine was to force trauma into his life, so he kidnapped X-23 and Daken, Wolverine’s children, and repeatedly burned them to death with a flamethrower.
As Wolverine’s children, these two could heal back their wounds, albeit in agony. Every time they healed, the flamethrowers would activate, burning them to death all over again. Deadpool forces Wolverine to witness this to enrage him and show him just how nasty he can be.
5 Fighting Him With Swords And Words In His Ex-Girlfriend’s Apartment
Wolverine (1988) #88
Wolverine promised an old friend that he’d check in on a former Weapon X victim, Kane. Yet, when Wolverine arrives, he finds none other than the Merc with a Mouth in a trashed apartment who immediately opens fire on Wolverine. Deadpool provides plenty of verbal jabs, as well as bullets and sword slashes to try and get rid of Wolverine.
Deadpool was holding a grudge when his girlfriend, Vanessa, left him. With an enraged heart, Deadpool decided to take his anger out on Wolverine and sliced him up so bad that Wolverine was left in the destroyed apartment for his healing factor to kick in whilst Deadpool exited stage left.
4 Assaults Kitty Pryde Just To Fight Wolverine (Again)
Deadpool (1997) #27
When Deadpool visits a therapist, he’s told that the best way to deal with his issues is through physical violence. Without even questioning the logic, Deadpool decides that the best way to solve that itch is to find and enrage Wolverine to battle for a few bloody rounds. Yet, when Wolverine wants no part of it, he decides to give Kitty Pryde a sucker punch just to stir trouble.
Furious over Deadpool’s seemingly whimsical and annoying assault, Wolverine unsheaths his claws and gives Deadpool what he wants, although this time, Wolverine isn’t going to hold back in tearing Deadpool to shreds for harming an innocent young woman.
3 Causes A Truck And Plane To Land On Wolverine Over A Double Dare
Deadpool vs. Old Man Logan #3
Old Man Logan hasn’t had the easiest life, and it’s only going to get worse when Deadpool invites himself to aid on a mission to save a young Mutant. Whilst his intentions might seem all good, his constant attitude to face death and be a little silly is only going to endanger those around him, which is exactly what happens to Old Man Logan.
The Mutant they are trying to help can teleport objects, and she has been kidnapped by an evil organization that makes her attempt to kill Wolverine and Deadpool. Deadpool goads these people into fighting them and even goes as far as a double dare. In response, a truck, and then a plane, crash into Deadpool and Wolverine.
2 Being The X-Force’s Voice Of Reason
Uncanny X-Force #5
This one isn’t exactly Deadpool’s fault, but one of the worst things he ever did was make Wolverine feel slightly bad about what they had done to him. As the X-Force, these team members are supposed to do the dirty business that the X-Men can’t. Yet, things go from bad to worse when the X-Force is responsible for murdering a child. Whilst that child was Apocalypse, it was still a child.
Deadpool expresses regret and even says how he didn’t want to do it. Yet, Wolverine is adamant that the X-Force did the right thing. After some hurtful words, Deadpool leaves and claims that despite all he is, at least he isn’t a child murderer. It’s then revealed that Deadpool hadn’t even cashed a single check from Warren, he just wanted to be in the X-Force to do good for the sake of good, and not money, thus leaving the X-Force without a voice of morality.
1 Killing Wolverine With A Carbonadium Blade
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe #3
After torturing Wolverine’s children, Deadpool used a carbonadium sword to fight Wolverine himself. This weapon was capable of countering Wolverine’s adamantium claws and also had the unique ability to destroy his healing factor. Piercing Wolverine’s stomach with the sword, Wolverine’s healing factor was nullified, and he struck one more blow to his ego by saying his Mutant power is popularity.
With one swift strike, Deadpool decapitated Wolverine, sharing no kind farewells to the murder of his long-time rival. Deadpool killing Wolverine is impactful, considering he was the last of the X-Men left standing in this Marvel Universe.
