The most recent season of the well-liked anime program, based on Koshi Tachibana's Date a Live light novel series, was animated by GEEKTOYS. It was serialized by Fujimi Shobo from 2012 to 2020, and a total of 22 volumes are currently in print. Tsunako provided the drawings. Between April and June 2013, AIC Plus+ produced the first TV anime adaptation. Between April and June 2014, Production IMS's second season was broadcast. The fourth season, produced by GEEKTOYS and animated by J.C. Staff, ran from April to June 2022. The third season ran from January to March 2019 on television.
The Date a Live light novel series is published in English by Yen Press, and the anime is available on Crunchyroll. They tell the story as follows:
Shido, an ordinary high school boy, discovers a mysterious girl at the epicenter of a recent spacequake. Shido learns from his sister Kotori that the girl is one of the Spirits, the mystical creatures who cause the spacequakes. Shido is hired to help "seal" the sprits and put an end to their threat to humanity. The only catch is that the only way to seal a spirit is to make her fall in love with you.
