Yeah, the next arc is him doing the coming-of-age trial arc. So a BOSS fight is incoming, but he does meet said new companion during it. Vermouth accepted becoming the seal that kept the demon king of ruin from going rampant and destroying the world in exchange for Hamel’s resurrection.

So, the demon king of incarceration seals the demon king of ruin by using Vermouth, which creates the 300-year peace period. Vermouth wanted Eugene in his team because he knew Eugene was the reincarnation of a Literal god. Yes, that’s right; Eugene is the reincarnation of the god of war. He doesn’t have his memories as a god though.

When Eugene was Hamel, he had the extreme drive and work ethic he had when he was the god of war, but his body wouldn’t allow him to grow beyond a certain point. Senya and Anise hated Hamel at first, but they ended up falling in love with him. So Senya tries to kill Vermouth when Vermouth goes and digs up Hamel’s grave.

Anise reincarnates as a saintess, but she looks almost identical to how she looked in her past life. Eugene reincarnated 3 times. But Hamel died before that could happen, so he decided to try and reincarnate him once again to try and awaken his divinity once more.
