Classroom of the Elite Season 2 released a preview trailer and images for episode 7 along with the title and synopsis. The seventh episode is scheduled to air on August 15 and the title is a quote from French mathematician Jules Henri Poincaré’s “La Science et l’Hypothèse (Science and Hypothesis)“: “Douter de tout ou tout croire sont deux solutions également commodes, qui l’une et l’autre nous dispensent de réfléchir.“ which translates into “To doubt everything, or, to believe everything, are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.“
The newly released preview images for the seventh episode show characters including Class-D’s homeroom teacher: Sae Chabashira, the protagonist Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, Suzune Horikita, Kikyo Kushida, Kei Karuizawa, and Maya Sato.
Starting with this episode, the anime is animating the light novel’s Year 1 volume 6. The synopsis describes the next episode as follows:
After a handover ceremony for the student council president finished, Ayanokoji gets called by Sato suddenly. Under the circumstances, results of the mid-term exam are announced, and Class-D achieves that the class doesn’t have any students expelled. Chabashira, however, says what really matters will be a special exam called “Paper Shuffle” which is conducted as the term-end exam.
The light novel’s author Shogo Kinugasa is writing the scripts for the anime’s weekly preview trailers, and this week’s video features the predecessor of the student council’s president along with the current president. “It’s finally my turn, the monarch of the next generation,” Miyabi Nagumo begins. “Remember to take pride in being the president of the student council, and lead the student council.” The former student council’s president Manabu Horikita extends his hope to the successor, and the second-year student replies with a positive answer. Nagumo suddenly changes the topic by offering him a gamble to bet on the results of Ayanokoji’s experience with a romantic confession from his classmate Sato in the next episode: whether he accepts it or not.
The newly appointed president tries to declare what he is betting on, but Horikita interrupts to state that he has a bet on his refusal. “Hold on, that’s what I’m –” Nagumo tries to oppose it, but the third-year student only takes a firm stance on the bet and tells Nagumo to pick the other that Ayanokoji will accept the confession. Nagumo, however, still tries to confront the flow, and Horikita says: “Did you make a suggestion of an impossible gamble?” It is good enough to persuade Nagumo to take up the game. Manabu Horikita calls the episode title and concludes the video by giving advice: “At times, it’s significant for you to try to achieve victory in an aggressive way, Nagumo. Keep that firmly in mind.”
