Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is going incredibly strong right now and fans have been absolutely loving the last few chapters of the story. The series has seen the most beloved characters return from the timeskip and, at the same time, new villains emerge as well. Boruto was desperately in need of new villains as the likes of Code felt somewhat underwhelming.

Now, the God Tree Clones have emerged and they certainly pose a significant threat to the ninja world once again. Boruto is incredibly exciting now and the authors have already set up major fights for the future of the story. So far, fans have seen four of the God Tree Clones and, out of them, Jura, the apparent leader of the group, appears to be the most enigmatic one and the most interesting one as well.

Who Is Jura?

Jura is one of the Shinju that was recently birthed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Essentially, Jura’s birth is tied directly to Code and the splitting of the 10 Tails into miniature versions. In the original Boruto manga, Code decided to go to the juvenile 10 Tails that was kept hidden by Isshiki and used his claw marks on it. By doing this, he reduced it to a more mobile and humanoid version, and the creation, which took the form of a chakra-consuming army, was named Claw Grime. These Grimes were incredibly powerful, however, with varying strengths. Sometimes, they could be taken down by the average ninja, while others were strong enough to give a difficult fight even to the likes of Kawaki. The goal for the Claw Grimes was simple. They were to hunt chakra and any sort of chakra that crossed them became a target for them.

They bit into these bodies, sucking all their chakra out and, as a result, turned them into a miniature version of a God Tree. However, when these miniature 10 Tails Grimes bit into people with a significant source of power, something very interesting happened. Not only did the people get completely trapped inside the tree, but the chakra that got sucked out of them led to the birth of a God Tree clone.

These Shinju clones are what fans saw in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 4 for the first time. In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 5, these clones were named to be Jura, Hidari, Matsuri, and Bug. Of course, all of them are incredibly powerful and they are all based on real humans who have become a target for the Claw Grimes. In most cases, fans know who the actual body of the Shinju clones is. For instance, in the case of Hidari, the actual body belongs to Sasuke. In the case of Matsuri, the actual body belongs to Moegi, and in the case of the short Shinju, the body belongs to Bug. Interestingly, fans do not know whose body Jura stemmed from, however, there are quite a few ideas out there already.

Just by looking at Jura’s appearance, there are only two characters that could have birthed him. These characters are Jigen and Isshiki. However, when looking at the former, fans know that he did not have any Otsutsuki features. Jigen did not have a horn in the back of his head and, for that reason, it is highly likely that this person cannot be him. As such, it is highly likely that the real body of Jura is none other than Isshiki himself. Fans know that Kaguya attacked Isshiki and left half of his body somewhere. Ishiki’s upper half managed to gain control of Jigen and engraved karma on him from the inside. The lower half could then have been found and consumed by one of the Grimes and turned into a Shinju clone. This is the most plausible idea, given that Jura looks exactly like Isshiki in terms of appearance.

Jura’s Powers

When it comes to powers, Jura is going to be incredibly overpowered. Fans already know this, given that he likely possesses the same abilities as Isshiki. At the same time, he also possesses two Rinnegan. This means he has access to the Six Paths Powers and can make use of any of those Six Paths powers in combat. To make things even worse, he possesses the chakra boost from the 10 Tails, since he is born directly from it. This makes Jura incredibly powerful.

If Jura is based on Isshiki, then he should have access to Daikokuten and Sukunahikona. These two techniques are incredibly overpowered on their own and, when coupled with a boost provided by the 10 Tails, they likely become even stronger.

Given that Jura was birthed from the God Tree, he likely also has an incredibly powerful healing factor. Bug, who is likely the weakest of them all, attacked Boruto in chapter 4 of Two Blue Vortex and he completely overwhelmed him in terms of strength. Even a powerful Chidori did absolutely nothing to him. Meanwhile, Hidari was able to collide with Boruto on par and could have injured him greatly if it were an extended battle. Quite clearly, all the Shinju clones are incredibly powerful, however, the likes of Jura and Hidari appear to be the strongest of the lot. If Jura is truly based on Isshiki, then it goes without saying that he’s going to be the strongest.

Jura’s Target

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 5, Jura was focused on greatly and he made it quite clear that he has now evolved past his initial instinct. For the Shinju, the instinct is to go to the nearest source of chakra and absolutely demolish it by draining it of all the power. However, the Shinju clones have evolved beyond that. While they still crave chakra, they now can pick and choose who it is that they want. Whichever person their body desires is the one that they hunt down. For example, in the case of Hidari, he chose Sasuke’s daughter, Sarada Uchiha, as his target to consume. In the case of Matsuri, she chose Konohamaru, who fans know is the best friend of Moegi. Bug chose Ada, since they too have some sort of history. It appears that every single God Tree clone chose the character who they resonated with in some way.

Jura ended up choosing Naruto Uzumaki and this could simply have been the case because Naruto was the one responsible for Isshki’s death. Using the power of Baryon Mode, Naruto absolutely demolished him and shaved his life so much that he had barely a few minutes left. This further strengthens the argument that Jura is, in fact, related to Isshiki. Of course, Jura will have to go through Kawaki if he is to harm Naruto and that means a major fight between Kawaki and him has already been set up. Fans can only hope that Boruto reaches that point quickly and that they get to witness this incredible fight in all its glory.

Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto Part 2 chapter 6, is set to be January 20, 2023.
