Himawari was recently confirmed to have quite a lot of potential in Boruto, and this means great things for her character moving forward in the story.

Of course, there is a lot of progression for her character still to follow, however, fans already know that she will end up becoming one of the strongest characters in the series, and a lot have already started to wonder what heights she can reach.

When Himawari was introduced before the timeskip, fans knew that she had some intriguing powers up her sleeve. However, she did not get many opportunities to showcase her powers, and this was mostly down to the fact that she was not all that important at the moment. Even though Himawari did get some focus here and there, she was never at the forefront of things in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Still, towards the end of the series, fans did get a few hints that suggested that she had bigger roles to play in the future of the story.

For one, Himawari is the daughter of Naruto and Hinata, and for that reason alone, fans can be sure that she has intriguing roles to play down the line. However, if that's not enough, then, fans can consider the fact that she was hyped to be a very powerful one of the strongest characters in the series at one point in Boruto. When Daemon started living in Konoha, he observed Boruto's strength, and compared it to Himawari indirectly later down the line. According to Daemon, Himawari was a true threat, and by his own admission, he could beat Boruto easily. Yet, he confirmed Himawari to be one of the strongest individuals in the entire series.

After the 3-year timeskip of Boruto, Himawari has now grown up, and she is going to be focused on a lot more in the story. Himawari was seen training with the likes of Team 10 members at the beginning of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, and, as the Shinju arc continues, fans know for a fact that she has a bigger role to play here. Himawari is already quite strong, and her strength was confirmed by her matchup against Chocho. That said, she still has not tapped into her true hidden potential, which is what was recently hinted at in the Boruto manga.

Himawari's Hidden Potential

Himawari Holds The Power Of A Tailed Beast

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8, fans got their first look at Himawari's hidden potential. When Jura and Hidari set out on their hunt to Konoha, they did so seeking out Naruto Uzumaki. To make the hunt easier for them, they started tracing down his Tailed Beasts chakra. Naruto is a Jinchuriki and he had Kurama inside of him, along with the chakra of all the other Tailed Beasts. This chakra essentially serves as a radar for the Shinju. Given that they are Tailed Beasts themselves, they can easily hunt down anyone with similar chakra, and that is the strategy they utilized to get to Naruto, and what led them to Konoha specifically. While following their path to Naruto, they certainly don't succeed, however, at the end of the trail, the person that they found was not Naruto but Himawari.

For the fans, this was just as big a shock as it was for the Shinju. They expected to see Naruto at the end of their trail, but they ended up seeing a child who exhibited similar chakra and power to a Tailed Beast from inside of her. This essentially confirms that Himawari has Tailed Beast powers, and that she has a very important role to play in the future of Naruto and Boruto. What's very interesting for the fans is the fact that she will most definitely become a very powerful ninja.

How Strong Will Himawari Be?

Himawari Can Surpass The Otsutsuki

Himawari most definitely has limitless potential in Boruto. This is down to many factors that have come into play when speaking of her character. For one, she is the daughter of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata. Both Naruto and Hinata have a strong connection to the likes of the Otsutsuki. That in itself means that Himawari has somewhat of a connection to the Otsutsuki as well. This makes sense, given that Boruto has always had a strong predisposition to the Otsutsuki, and Himawari should follow the same logic.

Secondly, she is an Uzumaki, and that makes her very special. She most definitely possesses a massive chakra pool, and, for any ninja, that is very important. However, the biggest of all powers that she's going to have is the power of the Tailed Beast. Given that Daemon commented on the fact that Himawari has access to power that can rival or beat him, one can come to the conclusion that whatever chakra she has, be it just that of the Nine-Tails, or of all nine Tailed Beasts, is going to be overwhelmingly powerful. At this point, it doesn't really matter how this would make Naruto look in comparison.

What was that "Intensity" I felt from her? — Daemon

The author has clearly implied that Himawari possesses enough power to match Daemon and that is certainly a scary picture for the fans to imagine. Daemon also has incredible abilities that are extremely hard to counter. For him to give Himawari props is proof of the fact that she is extraordinarily powerful. Himawari is going to be on the same level as the likes of the Otsutsuki, and potentially even stronger than some of them. All this can be possible for her in her teenage years. By her prime, Himawari could very well end up surpassing the vast majority of the ninjas in the Naruto world, and potentially reach a level similar to Boruto, and her father in his peak.

Of course, there is a long road for Himawari to follow, and it is too early to say what powers she will end up gaining, and what she will make her own. What fans can be sure about is that she will rise to tremendous heights as a ninja that surpasses those of the Otsutsuki. For now, Himawari has to deal with the threats that are currently in front of her. These would be Jura and Hidari. Naturally, dealing with these monstrously powerful enemies is not going to be easy for her.

However, this is also a perfect opportunity for fans to see if her hidden powers will awaken or not. Furthermore, this battle could also give fans a glimpse of what she is truly capable of, and that is very exciting, to say the least. It looks like Himawari has very exciting times ahead for her, and all fans are eagerly waiting in anticipation to see what she will end up doing later down the line in Boruto.

Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 9, is set to be April 20, 2024.
