How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is one of several isekai stories that take place in a virtual game rather than in another real world. The series is very comedic, so while there are occasionally moments of romance here and there, it’s not the anime’s focus.

The Familiar of Zero is a classic isekai story that precedes most modern isekai anime by quite a few years. While it doesn’t share all the same tropes that more modern isekai stories sport, it does feature quite a sizable harem for Saito, one that grows with every season.

Kazuya Soma is fresh out of high school when he finds himself summoned to the Kingdom of Elfrieden through their hero summoning ceremony. The Kingdom has been suffering from a number of socio-economic struggles, and has only resorted to the summoning due to pressure from the Empire. Sympathetic to their plight, Soma offers a few words of advice, which suddenly leads to the entire kingdom being handed over to him.
How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom is a rather rare isekai where, instead of gaining incredible powers, the protagonist is given political strength and weight. While the series largely involves his management of the kingdom, it also builds his relationships with several love interests.

Fighting For Another World’s Queen
Kenshi Masaki is a young man who finds himself transported to the planet of Geminar, where he is tricked into attempting an assassination on Lashara Earth XXVIII, ruler of the Shtrayu Empire. When his attempt fails, Lashara takes Kenshi under her protection, and takes him to an academy where students learn to use Sacred Mechanoids in battle.
Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar is a spin-off of the Tenchi Muyo! series, a classic harem-comedy franchise. While this series has more action and mecha elements, the harem legacy is alive and well, with plenty of female characters falling for Kenshi’s kind and friendly personality.
