About the Upcoming BEASTARS 3
The BEASTARS anime is an anime adaptation of the manga by Paru Itagaki, produced by staff at Studio Orange (Trigun STAMPEDE). The first season ran for 12 episodes from October to December 2019, followed by the second season, which ran for another 12 from January to March 2021. Both seasons were directed by Shinichi Matsumi (assistant director, Porco Rosso), with Nanami Higuchi (literature assistant, Kill la Kill) responsible for the scripts and series composition, while Nao Ōtsu (chief designer, Trigun STAMPEDE) serves as character designer and Satoru Kōsaki does the music. Cast members include Chikahiro Kobayashi (Yamada Asaemon Shion, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku) as Legoshi; Sayaka Senbongi (Marcille, Delicious in Dungeon) as Haru; Yūki Kaji (Eren, Attack on Titan) as Pina; Yūki Ono (Isami Aldini, Food Wars!) as Louis; Akio Ōtsuka (Shunsui Kyōraku, BLEACH) as Gouhin and Atsumi Tanezaki (Frieren, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as Juno.
The BEASTARS story follows the development of an unlikely romance between a mild-mannered grey wolf named Legoshi and a white rabbit named Haru in a world where herbivores and carnivores appear to be coexisting, while tensions brew beneath the surface. Legoshi must overcome his carnivorous instincts if he has any chance with Haru, but she has no idea that she’s had a close shave with him before. The upcoming third season will be following the manga, which has run for 22 volumes in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion from September 2016 to October 2020.
BEASTARS is available on Netflix.
