Episode 4 of “Battle Game in 5 Seconds” gave fans some more ball-busting fights, for better or worse. The longest fight of the season finally had a winner and, yet again, Yuri makes quick work of her fight. But this time it’s against someone nobody expected. Spoilers ahead!
What We Learned
Usually, we dive into what we learned in each episode. Luckily, we didn’t need more explaining this time around. Episode 4 was straightforward and continued the 5v5, technically 1v1, match of the second round. Fans have an understanding of everyone’s abilities and names at this point. And the rules of the second round were still the same.
That’s pretty much it.
The first round didn’t really seem to have a punishment, as Akira realized that Kirasaki’s injuries were healed and nothing else happened to him. We didn’t see the “true” punishment of the losing team yet as Mion mentioned nor did we receive any information on what the next stage is. So, as for now, we just have to use our imagination (unless you read the manga).
The fights in episode 4 were ball-busting in one way or another. The fight between Kirasaki and Zukomyoin that started in episode 3 ended on a gimmick. Kirasaki had it won when one of Zukomyoin’s marbles just miraculously ended up under him, expanding, then taking him out of the match.
While the result may have been humorous, it was a weird ending to the fight. So much that Akira had to remind Karasaki how much of an idiot he is multiple times after the match.
The next was Akira’s match where more time was spent on him over-analyzing the situation than the actual fight itself. It gives fans a build-up to yet another anti-climatic win. So that left fans with Yuri’s match. Despite it being yet another 5-second match, it still had a nice twist.
Her opponent ended up being Ouji, the same character who ended up putting Yuri in the situation she’s in now back in episode 2.
The battle was actually shaping up to be extremely interesting. We know Yuri has the ability to quintuple her physical strength. but Ouji states his ability is to make his body as hard as iron. Unfortunately, yet again, Yuri ends the fight in a flash.
Between the backstory and abilities, it had the potential to be an interesting fight. But in “Battle Game in 5 Seconds” fashion, we didn’t get that pleasure. Instead, Yuri knocks him out of the ring in a hurry.
On to the next round!
Next Week: Beginning of Round 3
Episode 6 could possibly be the most interesting episode we’ll see at this point. The preview introduces new, vulgar characters and we get to see Yuri and Akira team up yet again. But we still don’t know what the losing team’s punishment is. As Mion stated, their bunny-outfit punishment wasn’t the “real” one.
So, hopefully, the series will hold up on that end and gives us a glimpse of how brutal Mion and company can be.
So, what did you think of “Battle Game in 5 Seconds” episode 4? Is Yuri a Summer 2020 best-girl candidate? If you thought it was worthy of a top-10 spot, then make sure to vote for it in our weekly poll!
