The first installment aired as a one-hour special on March 3rd, and Crunchyroll divided it into three episodes.

New Teasers for Attack on Titan's Final Season

Several teasers and character images were released prior to the premiere of the first installment, including a somber Levi with half of his face wrapped in bandages and Hange with a soft smile on their face. The most recent trailer revealed an intense confrontation between Eren and the rest of his friends as the series speeds toward an emotional conclusion. SiM returned to the Attack on Titan franchise with "Under the Tree," the opening song for The Final Season: Part 3. The band released the animated music video on their YouTube channel, tracing all of the events that have occurred thus far and concluding with Eren gazing up as he sits beneath a massive tree. The band previously provided the vocals for the opening song of The Final Season: Part 2 with "The Rumbling."

Wit Studio (Spy x Family and The Ancient Magus' Bride) produced the first three seasons of Attack on Titan before MAPPA took over as the animation studio for the fourth and final season of Attack on Titan. MAPPA split the last season into three parts, with the first airing in January 2021 with 16 episodes and the second in February 2022 with 12 episodes. The announcement of Part 3 of The Final Season revealed it would be split again into two parts. Masafumi Mima, the sound director for the series, revealed that the restrictions enacted in a post-COVID-19 era had contributed to the production delays.

Attack on Titan, a critically acclaimed manga series by Hajime Isayama, debuted in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shnen Magazine in September 2009. As of September 2022, the series had sold over 110 million copies, and despite ending in April 2021 with a somewhat controversial finale, it still has a large fan base. Attack on Titan follows Eren Yeager, who seeks to free humanity after years of being trapped behind a walled city by humanoid monsters known as the Titans. Initially, he thought joining the Survey Corps would be the answer, but as the truth about his ancestry and the Titans becomes clear, he realizes that a more drastic approach is required to achieve the freedom he craves.

You can watch the first three seasons as well as the first episode of The Final Season: Part 3 on Crunchyroll. The third and last episode of The Final Season will debut in the autumn.
