The preview images for episode 1 of Arifureta season 2 have been released. The second season begins on January 13, 2022, and we will finally see the beginning of Kaori’s journey after she joined Hajime.

The ending song for the anime has also been revealed. The title of the song is Gedou Sanka, and is performed by “Fantastic Youth”. The opening song of the show is titled Daylight by “MindaRyn”. You can check out the official announcement below:

Arifureta season 2 ending song information

Arifureta season 1 aired in the Summer 2019 season and had a total of 13 episodes. Two OVAs also aired in December 2019 and February 2020. White Fox (Akame Ga Kill!) and Asread (Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory) animated the series, while Kinji Yoshimoto (Seven Mortal Sins) directed it. Akira Iwanaga (Isuca) is directing the second season, while studio Mother and Asread (Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory) are in charge of the animation.

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest was originally a web novel series written by Ryo Shirakome. Overlap started publishing a light novel adaptation in June 2015, and it currently has 11 volumes in circulation. The same publisher is also publishing a manga adaptation by RoGa since December 2016. The manga has 9 volumes available as of now.

J-Novel Club is publishing Arifureta light novel series in English. Season 2 of the anime will adapt the story starting from Volume 5. You can read its synopsis below:

With the addition of Kaori into their party, Hajime and his friends make for Myu’s hometown, the coastal city of Erisen. While crossing the Gruen Desert, they save a young Ankajian man, Bize, from a sandworm attack. Apparently, he was searching for a cure to the mysterious disease that has struck his people. His travels led him to conclude that a mineral known as stillrock held the key to saving his country, but it can only be found inside the Grand Gruen Volcano, a labyrinth far too dangerous for most. Hajime agrees to help Bize procure some, and the party begins their quest to conquer yet another labyrinth. But along the way, they meet a most unexpected foe…
